Sales Manager * Be an important part of the Nara Management Group! Nara Management Group currently manages three hotels in the Anaheim resort area and is looking for fresh and creative individuals to come join our team at our newest LA property. What does a Sales Manager description include? The Sales Manager will sell to new and existing clients in both the Corporate and SMERF markets using a variety of sales methods, including appointment and cold calls, Internet prospecting, and phone solicitation. This position will work closely with Management to utilize all tools provided by the Brand to properly position our hotel and increase presence in a highly competitive market. The Sales Manager will be responsible for enabling the hotel to achieve the top line goals of our business plan along with achieving personal sales goals. The Sales Manager will report directly to the General Manager. * Responsibilities include: * Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication. * Provide strategic revenue management plans within the hotel to include; rate development, establishment of group thresholds, space utilization policy, deployment strategies through the review of competitive data, demand analysis and market mix management. * Develop and execute a comprehensive personal sales plan to deliver predetermined goals for group and corporate accounts with corresponding room night targets. * Meets quarterly sales goals as outlined. * Solicit group business directly and jointly with others through the preparation, execution and completion of Action Plans. * Manage the hotel's RFP process/rate negotiations according to hotel's rate structure and guidelines. * Maintain product knowledge at all times including all relevant rate structures and promotional offers. * Upon closing, coordinate and follow-up with other hotel departments to ensure guests' expectations are met. * Establishes and maintains effective relationships with assigned accounts. * Conducts hotel tours and site inspections for potential customers. * Effectively develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities. * Effectively manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. * As directed, participate in trade shows, conventions and promotional events within the hotel, the industry and customer organizations. * Participate in designated training programs. Key skills and qualifications of a Sales Manager: * Should be well versed in prospecting, rate and contract negotiating, business planning and telephone sales. * Exceptional computer skills * Exceptional relationship building skills. * Exceptional negotiation and selling skills. * Ability to work independently and demonstrate exceptional time-management and organization skills. * Persuasive and concise verbal and written communication. * Maintain enthusiasm and interest throughout all conferences with clients. * Keep accurate records of contacts, sales, and purchases. * Be available on nights, weekends and holidays. * Be an enthusiastic, helpful and positive member of the team. * Be professional, responsible and mature in conduct and behavior. * Be understanding of, encouraging to and friendly with all co-workers. * Be self-motivated and use time wisely. * Maintain open line of communications with each department. * Communicate pertinent information to direct report as needed. * Respond positively to new ideas. * Openly accept critical/developmental feedback. * Maintain effective communication through the use of meetings, log books and bulletins. * Be available to help other departments in emergency situations. * Perform other assignments as directed by the General Manager, & other Senior Management. Required Experience * Five (5) years of related experience with progressive management experience and a proven track record of high volume corporate and smerfe sales / revenue generating performance * Extensive knowledge of forecasting sales and interpreting/analyzing results to plan and conducting budgetary analysis * Extensive knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training and motivating managersNara Hotels
