Full description of the position
We are seeking a driven and strategic Automotive Territory Account Manager. In this role, you will be an integral part of the company 's growth and success within the automotive aftermarket sector. JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing and growing sales within assigned automotive customer accounts and channels. This role will cultivate strong, sustainable relationships with existing automotive clients, identify and secure new automotive business opportunities, and significantly increase profitable sales over time within the automotive landscape. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Drive increased sales with current automotive customers through proactive sales efforts, including product presentations, promotions, and value-added services tailored to their automotive needs. * Identify and develop new automotive customer relationships by actively prospecting dealerships, repair shops, distributors, or other relevant automotive businesses, qualifying opportunities, delivering compelling presentations, negotiating terms specific to the automotive industry, and effectively addressing customer concerns to close profitable sales. * Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations showcasing our automotive products/services to both existing and potential customers, and successfully close sales. * Monitor automotive customer sales trends and activities, and develop targeted action plans to address their specific requirements and drive mutual growth. * Collaborate with Marketing and other relevant departments to develop and implement automotive-focused plans and strategies to meet customer needs and achieve profitable sales growth within the automotive market. * Participate in the budgeting process by providing accurate automotive sales forecasts and contributing to sales planning initiatives. * Communicate regularly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with management regarding automotive sales activities, outcomes, sales forecasts, key automotive accounts, and any challenges encountered. * Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key personnel within automotive customer organizations. * Introduce and conduct training sessions for clients on new automotive parts, products, or service offerings. * Effectively utilize Sales Point or other relevant CRM tools to optimize sales efforts and maximize revenue generation at the automotive customer level. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: * Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling formal presentations to both small and large groups within the automotive industry. * Basic to intermediate computer skills with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). * Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to overcome objections specific to the automotive market. * Ability to adapt successfully and effectively navigate the dynamic and evolving conditions of the automotive industry. * Demonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and negotiation, with a strong emphasis on closing sales within the automotive sector. * Ability to conduct business in a professional and ethical manner with both internal and external automotive customers. * Ability to travel as needed to effectively manage the assigned automotive customer base. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is conducted in the field, engaging directly with automotive customers at their locations (e.g., dealerships, repair facilities). This requires significant driving, as well as periods of standing, walking, and sitting. When not meeting with customers, work is performed in a company office setting. Occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds may be required. Frequent wrist and finger manipulation is necessary for computer work, calculations, and documentation. Equipment used may include a vehicle, computer, telephone, and standard office equipment. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * 1-3 years of successful outside sales experience, preferably within the automotive industry (aftermarket, OEM, or related). * 1-3 years of successful business development experience, ideally with a focus on acquiring new automotive accounts. * Preferred candidates will possess existing relationships and experience within the assigned automotive sales channel or customer base.
