Job Overview: The Group Sales Manager is responsible for driving a hotel's revenue by developing and executing sales and marketing strategies. They work to attract and retain guests and clients and ensure customer satisfaction of their assigned Hotel. Strategic sales solicitation, qualification skills, and relationship building to deliver sustainable results are key to success. A strong skill set to create strategic partnerships is essential, as well as gaining insight into the local market and making outside sales calls. Responsibilities * Solicit new and existing accounts to exceed revenue goals through phone calls, site inspections, and written communication. * Manage the sales process, providing strategic direction for hotel sales and revenue growth. * Prepare customer correspondence, internal booking reports, and maintain files in the Salesforce CRM/database. * Drive revenue and results to support in achieving property budget and goals. * Approach each business call professionally and knowledgeably. * Participate in daily team and sales-related meetings * Maintain a collaborative, team approach and positive attitude. * Attend trade shows, community events, and industry meetings. * Build and leverage relationships to enhance hotel visibility and market share. * Stay informed on market trends, competition, and customer needs. * Develop strategies based on client requirements and market analysis. * Identify new business opportunities across the portfolio and individual hotels. * Collaborate with hotel management to activate strategies for new business acquisition. * Maintain clear communication among various departments for Groups, VIP's, Meetings, and Banquets, flexible schedule required. Experience & Qualifications * 3-5 years of experience in hospitality, retail, or food service, Marriott experience preferred. * Implement sales campaigns, including research, promotions, event coordination, and social media planning. * Drive sales through leads, social media, outside calls, site tours, and local networking. * Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with a "lead by example" ethic. * Achieve occupancy and RevPAR goals while reducing reliance on OTAs. * Train staff on sales objectives and negotiate local accounts. * Evaluate performance and update Sales Action Plans for improvement. * Utilize industry connections to identify market trends and opportunities. * Maintain Salesforce database and provide weekly reports to management. * Foster relationships with clients through in-person meetings. * Engage with local chambers, economic development, and CVB/DMOs to enhance community reputation. * Excellent communication, oral, and written skills; positive attitude, self-starter with strong initiative and competitive mindset with a passion for the hotel business. * Advanced working knowledge of all Office products - Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
