Epic Change Management Practitioner Job Description Overview If you 'd like to help shape patients' experiences beyond the treatment room, consider a professional or business support career at IU Health. You'll play a crucial part in ensuring that our operations run smoothly, and that patients, physicians and providers have the information and tools they need through your work in our professional and business support roles at IU Health. We have an exciting new position available for an Epic Change Management Practitioner to join our new Epic team at our IU Health-Indianapolis location in downtown Indianapolis. This position will be full time working Monday- Friday on our day shift, with hybrid schedule flexibility. The Epic Change Management Practitioner supports the Change Management Manager, project managers, workstream leads, and impacted groups during organizational transformation initiatives. This Practitioner is responsible for implementing and monitoring change management plans through transfer of ownership to respective business owners, focuses on equipping key stakeholders internal and external to the project team with the skills and support needed to effectively and efficiently transition through the change while fostering adoption, minimizing disruption, managing resistance for sustained organizational success and optimization. This Practitioner also acts as a change advocate by fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement across teams. Provides guidance and support rooted in technical expertise to project team members on implementing change management methods. Leads workshops and meetings to communicate change strategies and progress to stakeholders and leadership. Designs and implements change management plans, timelines, deliverables that align with organizational transformation goals. Maintains detailed documentation of change processes, decisions, and outcomes for accountability and future reference. Develops and refines tools, templates, and processes to streamline change management activities. Leverages change management software or tools (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR) to track progress and measure outcomes. Provides hands- on technical support and guidance to teams and individuals during transitions, ensuring they have the knowledge, ability, and resources needed to successfully adopt the change. And identifies areas of resistance and work closely with teams to address challenges and ensure stakeholder buy-in. This Practitioner will implement contingency plans to mitigate risks associated with resistance or unexpected setbacks in adoption and engages with cross-functional teams to gather insights and feedback, ensuring alignment of change strategies with organizational needs. Partners with HR, training, and communication teams to deliver a cohesive approach to change management. Acts as a liaison between leadership and project teams to ensure consistent messaging and stakeholder alignment. Develops and delivers change-related training programs to equip stakeholders with the knowledge and skills needed to adapt effectively. Shares best practices and lessons learned from previous change initiatives to improve future efforts. Provides guidance and technical support to managers and team leaders to help them effectively guide their teams through change. Stays up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in change management, and continuously improve the organization's change management capabilities. This is just a few reasons why applying for your career with IU Health is a good choice. * Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Business, Psychology, IT, or a related field required. * Certification in Change management is highly desirable (e.g., Prosci or APMG certification). * Certification in Project Management is highly desirable (e.g., PMP certification). * At least 3 years of experience implementing enterprise and/or system change management for highly complex programs and/or 5 plus years of experience in project management roles. * Proven experience in implementing organizational change management, ideally in a healthcare setting. * Proven experience with implementing change management plans in a highly matrixed organizations. * Proven experience with implementing Change Management and Project Management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR, PMP, Critical Path) and tools. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. * Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. * Proficiency in change management tools and data analysis software. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent Change Management and Project Management planning, implementation, and monitoring skills. * Proven effective application of change management principles, methodologies, best practices, and how people go through a change. * Ability to work collaboratively with internal project leaders, members as well as external consultants.
