Shop Assistant/Porter Primary Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as support and assistance to the technicians and service advisors of Luke's Automotive with the potential to advance into various positions including technical and sales positions. Qualifications: Have a clear driving record High School Diploma or equivalent Special Knowledge/Skills: Able to lift 20-50lbs pounds Ability to communicate with fellow employees Ability to follow verbal and written instruction Major Responsibilities and Duties: * Test drive vehicles and perform quality control checks. * Retrieves vehicles for repair in the most expeditious manner. * Maintains a clean and safe work environment. * Performs any other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor. * Demonstrates the ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to operations. * Responsibility for maintenance around facilities, to include removal of trash, sweeping, mopping, etc. * Responsibility to do quick cleans of customers cars. * Stock shop inventory and supplies. Physical Demands/Environmental Factors : Moderate walking, standing; lifting and carrying; stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects and vehicles. Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
