Job Summary Thorpe Electric Supply, Inc., is a family-owned wholesale/retail electrical distributor established in 1955. We are headquartered in Rensselaer, NY with a second location in Amsterdam, NY. We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join our team at our Amsterdam location. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and support in a retail environment. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers with their inquiries, process transactions, and ensure that our inventory is well-managed. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences. Duties * Greet customers and provide assistance with product selection and inquiries. * Process sales transactions accurately using a cash register and maintain an organized checkout area. * Manage inventory levels, ensuring products are stocked and displayed properly. * Utilize retail math skills to assist customers with pricing, discounts, and promotions. * Maintain an organized workspace and ensure cleanliness of the sales area. * Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction. Experience * Background in wholesale electrical parts and equipment, highly preferred. * Previous experience in customer service or retail sales is preferred. * Familiarity with cash register operations and basic financial transactions is a plus. * Computer proficiency required. * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
