Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier/Sales associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions and promoting products. Your ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive shopping environment will contribute to the overall success of our store. Duties * Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register. * Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures. * Provide product demonstrations to enhance customer understanding and engagement. * Assist customers with inquiries, ensuring a positive shopping experience through excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. * Upsell products by recommending complementary items based on customer needs. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and sales floor. * Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance store performance. * Stay informed about current promotions, product offerings, and store policies. Skills * Proven experience in retail sales or a similar customer-facing role is preferred. * Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers. * Strong cash handling skills with attention to detail in processing transactions. * Ability to perform basic math calculations for accurate change and transaction totals. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members. * Experience with product demos and upselling techniques to drive sales is advantageous. * Familiarity with grocery store operations is beneficial but not required.
