Real Estate Assistant Position at YHSG in Farmingdale About the Role We're looking for a licensed assistant with real estate experience who doesn't just handle chaos--they organize it, color-code it, and make it look effortless. This isn't your average assistant role. You won't be fetching coffee or doing data entry all day. You'll be working directly with Sue, one of the top 2% of agents out of 24,000+ on Long Island, managing active listings, client communications, and the behind-the-scenes machine that makes a high-performing real estate business run. Maybe you've tried being a full-time agent, but cold calling and working for free chasing not-so-serious buyers wasn't it for you. You'll split your time between our Farmingdale and Fire Island offices, so yes, you'll need reliable transportation and a go-with-the-flow attitude. You might find yourself driving to appointments, dropping off signage, or heading into the office to support the team. At this point, we're lucky to have more business than we can handle--and that's where you come in. Last year, Sue closed a ton of transactions. This year, we're going for 100 --and we're looking for someone who's ready to roll up their sleeves and help us get there. You'll work directly with both of us, supporting Sue on the ground and helping make sure the entire operation runs like a well-oiled machine. What You 'll Be Doing (AKA Making Real Estate Magic Happen) * You 'll be Sue's go-to partner - Think of yourself as the calm in the chaos. You'll manage paperwork, deadlines, and client updates across multiple transactions. Your warmth and professionalism sets the tone--and you'll build real relationships that matter. * Run our systems like a boss - Follow-Up Boss (our real estate database) and Click-up (our listing management site) will become your best friend. You'll keep it updated with notes, tags, and timelines, so no lead, client or agent ever falls through the cracks. * You 'll own the entire process from client to closing - From compliance uploads and marketing to open house planning and client prep, you'll be involved (and in charge) of it all. * You 'll support Sue's buyers on the ground - Support Sue (and her clients) by booking showings, attending tours, and helping them get one step closer to their dream home. * You 'll be the team's behind-the-scenes hero - Agents will turn to you with questions (Where do I upload this? How do I send that contract?) and you'll be the calm, confident person who always has the answer--or knows how to find it. * All Things Random: Need to pick up plants at Home Depot for a flip project? Wait on hold with Verizon for two hours while sipping iced coffee? Swing by a rental property to grab a check or meet a contractor? You're already on it. Here's a peek at what a typical week might include: * Joining Sue on listing appointments to take notes, keep things organized, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks * Showing homes to buyers when Sue is unavailable, ensuring they feel supported and excited about their search * Helping agents in the Farmingdale office with questions about systems, contracts, or compliance--you're the go-to for keeping everyone on track * Working from our Fire Island office during the summer, greeting walk-ins, answering calls, and handling operations from the beach (literally) * Running real estate errands --whether it's picking up signage, dropping off a check, or staging supplies from Home Depot, you're the boots on the ground * Working from home on Client communication & backend updates--texting clients, updating ClickUp or Follow-Up Boss, confirming appointments, or checking in on deadlines Every day is different--and that's why we need someone who's flexible, resourceful, and excited to make things happen. Here's the breakdown: * $25/hour (approx 35-50 hours per week dependent on the week which is around $52,000-$65,000/year) * For every closed deal Sue completes that you support, you'll earn an additional $500--no matter how many sides are involved. * For example - if we sold 30 homes that would add another $15,000 in commission. This year, with your help, we're aiming for 50+ homes sold--meaning even more commission potential. Room to Grow - We're focused on finding the right person. You'll start hourly, and if we're all loving it after six months, we're open to evolving this into a full-time salaried position with health benefits, paid time off, and a clear growth plan included.
