Celtic Marine & Logistics Job Description *VP of Sales & Marketing-Northeast Region JOB SUMMARY The VP of Sales & Marketing position generates revenue growth and provides comprehensive customer service. The candidate will be expected to produce revenue growth by identifying decision makers, coordinating customer meetings, and developing comprehensive pricing strategies for bundled contracts to enhance customer business. The position is responsible to negotiate acceptable profit margins and educate customers on solutions to meet their transportation needs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Identify and develop new business accounts and opportunities in various transportation modes; ocean chartering, containers, barge, truck, rail and ship agency. * Maintain and further develop existing customer base in various transportation segments. * Work closely with the sales team to learn the business environment and become acquainted with the customer base and their transportation needs. * Responsible and accountable for lead generation. Develop new business prospect lists to ensure future new business development is planned in advance. * Communicate effectively with existing and potential clients; face to face meetings, phone, email and cold calls. . Prepare client presentations, contract negotiations and provide excellent service. * Responsible for the management and handling of the RFQ response documents. * Build and maintain relationships with key transportation and service providers in all business segments. * Maintain close working relationships with the Operations team. * Cross selling within existing customer base to further develop account potential through barge, ocean, truck and rail freight. * Meet and/or exceed all sales targets, objectives, and goals QUALIFICATIONS . Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years outside business-to-business sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. . Previous logistics/transportation sales experience across multiple modes of transportation highly preferred. . Established presence in the Midwest market preferred. . Proven sales track record in business development and account management. * Ability to travel/cover territory (Northeast US); estimated overnight travel is 50%. * Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
