This procedure establishes and describes the basic function, reporting relationships, duties, and responsibilities for the position of Territory Manager (TM). The primary function of the TM position is to promote and sell BEHCO products and services within an assigned geographic area, market industry, product range or list of customer accounts to achieve sales and profit targets. Basic Function The Territory Manager (TM) is responsible for promoting and selling BEHCO products and services within an assigned geographic area, market industry, product range or list of customer accounts to achieve sales and profit targets. The TM is responsible for generating profitable territory sales growth by leveraging BEHCO capabilities and resources to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations with the goal of ultimately becoming a consultant to our customers. The TM is responsible for building relationships across all levels within existing customers and prospective target accounts to generate new business opportunities. Reporting Relationships * The TM reports to the Director of Sales * The TM works closely with Product Management and Applications Engineering personnel. * The Sales Engineer works closely with Inside Sales to maximize profitability of opportunities Responsibilities * Sales Growth: Achieve Sales Target as defined in Business Plan. * Profitability: Achieve Profit Target. As defined in Business Plan. * Project Focus: Generate and convert projects for key target customers. Manage project cycle and velocity. * Achieve 7+ new projects, 4+Engineering Action Requests per month. Track monitor and work to improve project win rate. * Complete 27+ sales visits per month with mix of new & existing accounts. * Conduct joint sales visits utilizing BEHCO resources such as Product Managers, Sales Director, Application Engineers, Vendors, etc. Not sure what this means? Need to define "BEHCO resources" * Pursue sales leads, with promptness and attention to vet opportunity and action to develop or close. * Build customer relationships and strategic partnerships, assess customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services; respond to complex customer inquiries, and win sales orders to meet sales targets. Utilize BEHCO resources where appropriate and needed. * Identify, research, and contact prospective target growth customers that will generate future sales and repeat business as defined in Business Planning * Provide market feedback and intelligence to Product managers, sales director and vendors * Ensure timely flow of quotations to maximize our opportunity to win the order. * Develop short and long-term strategic sales plans for key customers, growth customers * and key accounts. Meet and review with Director of Sales on a regular basis. * Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, and/or weekly strategic sales visit, and customer action plans and prioritize and schedule activities so sales and profit targets are met. Skills & Experience * Strong business sales and marketing strategies * Excellent Customer Focus and understanding of total customer satisfaction * Technical application aptitude and or relevant engineering experience * Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Excellent people and relationship building skills * Customer driven with a positive, professional, customer first attitude. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy * Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills * Proven proficiency and experience in the use of business operational software
