                Full description of the position
About the role * We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Upfit Specialist to join our team at ZO Motors. As our Upfit Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting our Sales Team in developing upfit solutions for a diverse range of customer needs. This ranges from specialized truck bodies like towing vehicles to street sweepers, garbage trucks, crane applications and everything in between. You will leverage your technical expertise and negotiating skills to get to the real customer needs, design solutions with 3rd parties, and assist the sales process from initial inquiry through project completion. * What you'll do Sales & Business Development: * On request of our Sales Team, assist in completing new business opportunities for specialized upfit solutions. * Together with our sales team, engage with potential clients to understand their upfitting needs, offer tailored solutions, and provide quotes for services. * Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and together with our sales team in customer meetings to promote upfit services and solutions. Technical Consultations & Solution Design: * Together with our sales team, work closely with customers to analyze their truck requirements and design upfitting solutions that meet their specifications, performance, and budget. * Provide technical guidance and product knowledge regarding the truck upfitting process, including options for chassis, body modifications, equipment integration, and safety features. * Create detailed technical proposals, including scope of work, material specifications, timelines, and cost estimates. * Collaborate with the engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and meet quality standards. Sales Presentations & Demonstrations: * Together with our sales team, prepare and deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients, highlighting the benefits of the proposed upfit solutions. * Work with marketing and product teams to create impactful sales materials, brochures, and technical documents that support sales efforts. * Provide accurate and timely product information to help our sales team enable customers to make informed purchasing decisions. Project Management & Coordination: * Act as the primary point of contact for our sales team throughout the sales process, ensuring clear communication and a smooth transition from sales to delivery. * Oversee the progress of upfitting projects to ensure timely delivery, quality standards, and customer satisfaction. * Coordinate with internal teams such as engineering, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure seamless execution of upfitting orders. * Ensure all necessary documentation, including 3rd party contracts, approvals, and purchase orders, is completed accurately and promptly. Market Research & Product Development: * Stay informed on the latest industry trends, truck upfitting technologies, and competitor offerings to provide innovative solutions to our sales team. * Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to suggest improvements to our existing products based on customer feedback and market needs. * Provide valuable insights on customer requirements to help guide the development of new upfitting products and services. Customer Support & After-Sales Service: * Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting to our after sales team post-sale, ensuring the performance and durability of upfitted vehicles. * Address our sales team inquiries, concerns, and requests regarding product functionality, warranties, and service options. Qualifications Experience: * Minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical sales role, preferably in the truck or commercial vehicle industry. * Strong knowledge of truck upfitting processes, equipment, and modifications. * Previous experience working with fleet operators, truck dealers, or custom vehicle solutions is highly preferred. Technical Skills: * Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts related to truck upfitting and vehicle modifications. * Proficiency in using CAD software, truck configuration tools, or other relevant software to create technical drawings and proposals is a plus. * Strong knowledge of vehicle specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards related to truck upfitting. Sales & Communication Skills: * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical solutions in a clear and compelling manner. * Ability to build relationships with a diverse range of highly specialized 3rd parties that will enable the success of our upfit solutions. Education: * Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. * Technical certifications in vehicle upfitting or automotive engineering are a plus. Other Requirements: * Ability to travel for customer meetings, site visits, and trade shows as required. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * A customer-focused attitude with a passion for delivering high-quality, customized solutions.
