Position Overview: We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager - Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) to join our team and drive growth in key markets. This role is critical to expanding Total-Western's market presence, identifying new business opportunities, and cultivating strong relationships with clients. The Business Development Manager will leverage industry expertise, market insights, and a proactive approach to generate and secure new business in the EPC sector. This role involves collaborating with senior leadership, project teams, and marketing to align business development strategies with the company's long-term goals. Key Responsibilities: Business Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in the EPC sector, focusing on markets such as oil and gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, renewable energy, and other industrial sectors. Leverage market intelligence and trends to develop strategies for new client acquisition. Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and potential partners to establish long-term business connections. Act as the main point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions that align with their business goals. Proposal Development: Collaborate with the project management, engineering, and procurement teams to develop high-quality proposals and presentations that address client requirements, technical solutions, and project timelines. Ensure that proposals are competitive, comprehensive, and reflect Total-Western's value proposition. Market Research and Strategy: Conduct comprehensive market research to assess industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Utilize this information to create strategic business development plans, helping guide Total-Western's approach to the EPC market. Sales and Revenue Generation: Drive the sales process from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure, meeting revenue targets and expanding Total-Western's market footprint. Track and report on sales performance, providing insights to senior leadership for decision-making. Networking and Industry Presence: Represent Total-Western at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities. Cultivate relationships with industry influencers, decision- makers, and associations to enhance the company's reputation and visibility in the EPC sector. Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and operations, to align business development efforts with project execution capabilities. Ensure smooth handoff from business development to project teams post-contract award. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. * 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role within the EPC or construction industry. * Strong understanding of the EPC process, including design, procurement, and construction in industrial sectors. * Proven track record of successfully acquiring new business and expanding market share. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders. * Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand complex business and technical requirements and deliver strategic solutions. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot). Preferred Experience: * Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field. * Established network of industry contacts within the EPC sector. * Experience with proposal development, including cost estimation, contract terms, and risk management. * Familiarity with industry regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, API). * Experience in a leadership role managing business development efforts. Work Environment: This is primarily an office-based position, with occasional travel to client sites and industry events. Travel may be required for networking, client meetings, and business development activities, including site assessments and presentations. Reporting Structure: The Business Development Manager - EPC will report to the Director of Commerical Operations. This role works closely with the executive leadership team and other departments to align business growth strategies with company objectives. Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this position is $95,000 - $130,000 annually, depending on experience.
