Please do not call the store location. The hiring manager is not on site. Overview We're hiring a Retail Sales Associate to join our team at our new UPS Store in Ontario, CA! We are seeking helpful people who are dependable and want to grow with a small business. You'll assist customers with shipping, packaging, printing, and mailbox services while providing friendly, fast, and accurate service. The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma or GED, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor. They must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time. About You: We are seeking a customer-focused and self-driven sales leader who will be responsible for engaging with customers by creating a welcoming in-center experience, educating our customers on the products and services we provide to meet their business needs and executing all processes and procedures at a high level of performance and accuracy. This position is ideal for an energetic, dynamic individual with a proven entrepreneurial skillset to drive fast-paced growth. Notary Public license preferred but not required. Quality and excellence count in everything we do, and it shows * You are passionate about creating incredible customer experiences * You put customers first and recognize that we only succeed when they succeed * You are self-motivated, proactive and positive, with a dedicated work ethic * You have an inquisitive mind and a desire to solve problems, no matter how big or small * Excellent attendance, prompt and reliable The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position: Duties * Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store. * Operate cash registers and Point of Sale (POS) systems efficiently to process transactions. * Provide product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits. * Upsell products by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable options. * Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor, ensuring merchandise is well-stocked and displayed. * Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to enhance satisfaction. * Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain high standards of customer service. * Assist in inventory management, including stock replenishment and conducting regular counts. Experience * Previous experience in retail sales, similar to The UPS Store or customer service, is preferred but not required. * Familiarity with cash registers, POS systems, and retail math is advantageous. * Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers. * A proactive attitude towards learning about products and enhancing sales techniques. * Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff is a plus but not mandatory. Additional Preferences: * Part-time and full-time positions available. * Notary Public license and Live Scan background screening may be required (support to obtain certification may be offered). * Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and certifications. * Higher end of the range is offered to candidates with: * Previous UPS Store or similar industry experience. * Active California Notary Public license. * Familiarity with shipping, customer service, or print/copy services.
