Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions in a retail environment, particularly within a grocery store setting. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle cash and operate a POS system effectively. Responsibilities * Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases. * Accurately process sales transactions using the cash register and POS system. * Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions securely and efficiently. * Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and store policies to assist customers effectively. * Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies. * Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional manner. * Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. * Supervise junior staff members when required, providing guidance on best practices. Qualifications * Previous experience in retail sales or as a cashier is preferred. * Strong understanding of retail math for accurate transaction processing. * Proficient in operating cash registers and POS systems. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers. * Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply for enhanced customer service capabilities. * Familiarity with phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone is a plus. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
