ROLE OVERVIEW The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a critical role in driving the growth and expansion of the company by identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and implementing strategic plans to enhance revenue. The BDM will be responsible for evaluating market trends, proposing new business strategies, and working closely with various departments to ensure the successful execution of business initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Identify New Business Opportunities: Conduct market research to identify potential clients, new markets, and growth opportunities. * Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. * Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business development strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. * Sales and Revenue Generation: Achieve sales targets and objectives by promoting the company's products and services. * Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to inform business decisions. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: participate in collaborative business meetings to update key stakeholders * Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on business development activities, performance metrics, and market insights for senior management. * Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts, terms, and agreements with clients and partners to secure profitable deals. KEY COMPETENCIES * Goal-Oriented: Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets. * Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business environments. * Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address challenges effectively. * Innovation: Creative thinking and the ability to propose innovative solutions and strategies. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within the industry. * Proven record of sales growth. * Sharp negotiation and networking skills. * Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred. PERFORMANCE METRICS The BDM's performance will be evaluated based on a variety of metrics, including: * Sales Targets: Achievement of revenue and sales growth targets. * Client Acquisition: Number of new clients acquired and retained. * Market Expansion: Success in entering new markets and expanding the company's market presence. * Client Satisfaction: Feedback and satisfaction levels from clients and partners. * Strategic Initiatives: Successful implementation and impact of strategic business development initiatives. WORK ENVIRONMENT The Business Development Manager role requires a high level of interaction with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
