Full description of the position
REALTORS of South Central Kansas (RSCK) is hiring a Professional Development Director to manage the professional development offered by the association. RSCK is a trade association for REALTORS with approximately 2,500 members. RSCK strives to provide high-quality education to REALTOR members to help them excel in their real estate careers. This position requires an individual that is passionate about education and proactive in maintaining a program that is informative and relevant. This is an in-person position based in Wichita, KS. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and in accordance with the association's policies and procedures, the Director of Professional Development oversees professional development for the Association. This position is responsible for executive leadership, vision, strategic planning and the departmental operation of the Professional Development Department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Coordinate, plan and implement all education and professional development programs for the association, including in-person, web based and hybrid courses. * Serve as the staff liaison to the Professional Development Committee. * Develops and oversees the professional development marketing plan including scheduling of course offerings for input into the database, classroom reservations, curriculum summary, continuing and course marketing in collaboration with the communications department. * Secure instructors for courses, establish back up instructor options in case of emergency and arrange an annual Instructor Development Workshop * Stay abreast and demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of regulations which impact education programs. * Oversee curriculum development and determine appropriateness of continuing education (CE) credit for new curriculum. When applicable, work with Kansas Real Estate Commission (KREC) to gain CE approval for courses and oversee related compliance. * Collect, review and disseminate student feedback to instructors and leadership for evaluation. * Identify and proactively provide ideas for new course content based on member feedback and analysis of industry trends * Oversee new member and new broker requirements and collaborate with the membership department to regularly conduct New Member Orientation. * Oversee the Association's online continuing education offerings, serving as the key contact for third-party providers. * Maintain proprietary school requirements with the Kansas Board of Regents * Oversee REALTOR Code of Ethics and Fair Housing requirements, including communications with Broker and agents to ensure compliance. * Assist with identifying content and source material for blog posts, presentations, etc. in collaboration with other areas of the Association. Administration: Assist in developing the annual budgets for the professional development department, maintain department files and serve as key contact for association professional development. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: * Bachelor's degree preferred. * Previous experience in educational programming, meeting planning and conference management. * Track record of experience with contract negotiation; sponsor solicitation and management; budget analysis and management; and innovative meeting design concepts * Must have good interpersonal, public relations and communications skills, including the ability to make presentations, negotiate and resolve conflicts. * Demonstrated ability to establish policies and procedures, develop priorities and identify resources. * Background working with volunteers, committee structure and a Board of Directors. * Previous real estate experience is encouraged, but not required. * Proficiency in a variety of computer applications with the ability to learn specialized software. * Must possess initiative, decision-making skills and the judgment necessary to determine action or approach for events, assignments, and projects. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time. * Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. * Ability to move tables & chairs during room setup. * Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate. * Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations. * Ability to view/enter data for extended periods of time.
