Rainbow Pools & Living Art Designs has been selling and servicing pools and spas in the Hudson Valley for 43 years. We are looking for a year-round, full- time Sales Associate for our busy retail store. Candidates with strong communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. Sales Associates have varied tasks including helping our customers with general pool and spa maintenance, water chemistry issues, finding parts, and more. Candidate does not need previous pool experience and we will train the right person. Retail Sales Associates must have open weekday and weekend availability and have reliable transportation. This position regularly works between 30 and 40 hours a week depending on the season. This position requires the ability to regularly lift 25 lb. and up to 50 lb. and be active on your feet throughout the day. Responsibilities * Greet and direct customers * Run water tests on our computerized analysis system * Ring up purchases, take orders, and look up items on our point-of-sale system * Answer customers' questions about specific products/services and recommend solutions to customer problems * Ensure shelves are stocked and store is clean * Answer phones and direct calls on our multi-line phone system Qualifications/Skills * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Experience in retail sales, including stocking, point-of-sale, and cash register operation * Strong customer service skills with a focus on enhancing the shopping experience * Ability to perform basic math calculations and handle retail math tasks efficiently * Strong organizational and time management skills * Knowledge of merchandising techniques and principles is a plus Benefits * Employee discount * PTO * Paid holidays * Medical Insurance * 401K * Tuition Reimbursement Program Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Experience: * Retail sales: 1 year (Required) Ability to Commute: * Fishkill, NY 12524 (Required) Work Location: In person
