The Director of Sales, Americas (West Region) leads a team of Key Account Managers, Territory Managers, and Inside Sales Specialists to drive growth and focus on key accounts. This role increases revenue, strengthens customer relationships, and ensures team success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Life Sciences sales leadership, key account management, and extensive knowledge of the West region. This position reports to the Commercial General Manager, Americas, and is part of the commercial organization based in Waltham, MA. The role is fully remote and based on the West Coast. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: * Drive the West Region team's performance to meet profitable margin and sales revenue targets, contributing to the Americas region's overall revenue and strategic objectives. * Lead, develop, mentor, and motivate a team of high-performing sales colleagues. * Build, develop, and refine sales processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, working cross-functionally and globally. * Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement. * Ensure accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management to support business planning and resource allocation. * Drive revenue growth for key accounts through proactive and reactive promotion of our portfolio of products and service capabilities. * Drive the creation of account and territory plans to drive growth and opportunity in the West region. The essential requirements of the job include: * Bachelor's degree in a life science field, with a preference for professional qualifications in business administration, marketing, or a related discipline. * Over 5 years of sales team leadership experience in the Life Sciences industry, including Academic Research and Biopharma, focusing on the West region. * Clear experience and demonstrated results with proven success growing key accounts as an individual contributor and leader of key account managers. * Experience working in matrix organizations with a cross-functional collaborative mindset. * Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of sales strategies, methodologies, and best practices. * Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and sales performance improvements. Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: * Ability to travel 50% of the time (domestic and international). * Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: * Selling life sciences consumable products like antibodies, reagents, and kits to Academic Research and Biopharmaceuticals At Abcam, we believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
