Full description of the position
Solar Atmospheres of California is seeking an Outside Sales Representative based in Southern Californiato cover the Western Region. The ideal candidate will not only be a road warrior with current active and relevant experience calling on Aerospace accounts but also be passionately committed to consistently providing best-in-class customer service. This translates into both internal and external responsiveness and communication, something our customer base expects from us on a daily basis. Developing new heat-treating business relationships while growing existing lifetime customers will be the primary goals. Our customer base varies from small to large machine shops and fabricators up to OEM Primes in the Space, Military, Defense, and Aerospace sectors. Consistently heavy weekly travel should be expected, with occasional trade-show/conference travel where being away for a week at a time is expected. A company car, credit card, and cell phone will be provided. What you 'll do As a Sales Representative at Solar Atmospheres , you'll be out on the road, using a customer-first approach to visit, call, and follow up with prospects who will benefit from a partnership with us. Unlike some sales positions, our leads and opportunities are almost endless. In the west, 95% of our business supports the Aerospace, Space and Defense Industries so there are a lot of direct and indirect companies that we can connect with that make parts within the industry, all of which need to be heat treated for a variety of purposeswhich is where we come in! The area you cover and companies you meet with will vary, but day to day, you can expect to do the following: * Visit multiple prospects and customers to build relationships and explain our value-added services * Call and follow up with our high volume of prospects and inbound leads * Plan and coordinate weekly/monthly travel, including flights/hotels as needed * Utilize Solar Atmosphere's CRM to maintain accurate records of prospecting/customer activities * Provide weekly reports and daily updates to the V.P. of Sales on activities, prospects, and new developments. * Network and participate in trade shows/conferences throughout the Country. What you need to thrive in this role * 10+ years of heat treating or Aerospace Metal Service Center sales background with connections to and relationships with machine shops and primes throughout the Western Region (CA, OR, WA, UT, AZ, NV, CO) * Comfortable with extensive travel throughout the western region, including overnights * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems required * General knowledge of all types of metals, with some basic awareness of heat treating concepts * Results-oriented, extremely self-motivated, with the ability to consistently work independently * Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and complete tasks with little supervision * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required for company vehicle About us The mission of Solar Atmospheres is to add significant value to our customer's operations by thermally treating parts, principally in a vacuum environment, with an unwavering commitment to honesty in all relationships.
