The Canopy by Hilton Hotel SOMA and Shelbys Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is looking for a Catering Sales and Private event sales Manager. This is a sales driven position. As a catering & private events sales manager, you would be responsible for the sales, revenue, and profits of the hotel's banquet and meeting rooms and Shelby's Rooftop Bar. Aggressively sells venues and follows through on events to ensure high customer satisfaction. The individual will maximize the hotel's revenues by conducting daily sales strategies, analyzing data to develop revenue- generating activities, and leveraging brand resources to drive topline revenues. *DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD INCLUDE: * Responding to leads, soliciting potential clients, and booking group and catering revenues for the hotel. * Regularly maintains contact with clients to foster professional relationships between them and the hotel staff. * Expertly assesses catering businesses and private events to maximize revenue potential. * Proactively making outside sales calls, leading sales tours, and confidently entertaining clients to achieve meaningful results. * Develop and enhance market awareness to confidently identify revenue opportunities and implement proactive strategies that ensure success. * Discover innovative ways to boost business for the hotel and its facilities. * Prepare and negotiate hotel contracts based on current business and pricing conditions. Interact with in-house guests to solicit future business and generate leads. * Monitor the production of all key accounts and assess market trends. * Ensure that you meet individual and team goals, as well as budgeted metrics. * Participate in and represent the hotel and its facilities at local events. Stay informed about the local market and relevant happenings. * Knowledge of social media to sell event space * Collaborate closely with the sales and catering coordinator to detail all aspects of catering events in the form of Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and other reports, ensuring timely communication of set-up, purchasing, and scheduling needs to hotel departments. * Ensure the accuracy of banquet catering and event information in Delphi. * Deliver exceptional customer service to clients during their stay at the hotel to guarantee total guest satisfaction. * Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients to generate repeat business and expand the client base, aiming to meet or exceed assigned revenue goals. * Assist in building strong relationships with other hotel departments, employees, and external agencies and vendors. * Possess knowledge of Hilton Hotels brand standards and the Delphi FDC system. * Coordinate with various hotel departments to ensure smooth operations before, during, and after an event. Be willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed from time to time.
