Sales Associate (commission-based) Derco Jewelers is a family owned and run business. The business was founded in 1939 and has been located in the design district's gift center since 1982. We focus primarily on diamonds and bridal jewelry, but offer an assortment of different products. We are known for our high standards in jewelry craftsmanship as well as the great customer service we provide our clients and employees. About the Position A Derco Sales Associate is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service for all of our valued customers, and providing the best experience for the client's special occasion. You will manage and maintain sales, organize and track orders, and build lasting relationships with your clients. Our Sales Associates are the company's driving force, and often operate in fast-paced environments. Since we are a family business, each of our Sales Associates has a clear and profound impact on the company's success. * Manage orders and sales through our proprietary inventory system * Create an individual experience representing our brand and ideals * Keep close contact with clients through the manufacturing process Requirements * Experience in a sales or retail environment. * Experience in the jewelry industry (preffered) * Ability to work on Saturdays (only until 4:00pm)- necessary * Basic knowledge and ability to work with computers and simple inventory programs * Knowledge or willingness to learn about the diamond/jewelry industry (Gemology, Market trends, Lab-Grown vs. Natural Stones, etc.) * Proficient verbal and written communication skills * Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Acrobat etc.) * Time management and organizational skills * A welcoming and patient demeanor Job Type: Full-time Pay: hour starting rate + commission while training, further pay negotiation after trial period (90 days) Benefits: * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Vision insurance * Flexible schedule * Paid sick leave Schedule: 8 hour shift Work Location: One location Education: High School Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Flexible schedule * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Shift: * 8 hour shift Work Location: In person
