Full Job Description JOB SUMMARY: The primary role of the Sales Manager is to work with each salesperson to improve his/her overall performance and to profitably grow The Lilly Company revenues and market share. This individual will work with the Director of Sales to develop corporate-wide sales strategies and policies that will help guide the daily activities of their sales team. The Sales Manager has responsibility for pricing approval (including additional discounting) for sales and promotion of our products. The Sales Manager also has direct supervisory responsibilities for the entire location/regional Equipment sales staff for the Fulton Industrial Southwest Atlanta area. EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Sales or Marketing related field is preferred TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: Local 50% of the time (making calls with sales team); out-of-town < 10% (meetings) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Be committed to and be a strong advocate for the company's culture and values * Build effective long-term relationships with our customers, prospects, vendors, and associates * Work with, motivate, coach, and develop individuals within the sales team to perform at a higher level * Oversee the daily activities of the sales team to ensure both customer satisfaction and achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals of new and used forklifts * Interface with customers as frequently as possible to ensure customer needs are being met * Work with vendors to ensure that discount levels are sufficient to secure orders from customers * Participate in the recruitment and hiring of all sales positions * Conduct monthly sales meetings to keep the sales team informed about company and department performance, product updates, and industry trends * Perform annual Performance Reviews for all individuals within the sales team * Ensure sales staff adheres to company and department policies and procedures * Submit monthly sales forecasts to the Director of Sales * Work with other departments in a spirit of teamwork to ensure customer needs are met while adhering to company and departmental policies and procedures * Ensure professional development by participating in The Lilly company and Toyota Training and other career development programs SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE * Minimum 3-5 years of experience in outside sales, preferably in the forklift or heavy equipment industry * Demonstrates effective leadership behavior, positive role model for the entire organization * High ethical standards; treats people with respect and dignity * High energy level; driven to be successful * Ability to motivate, train, and supervise assigned staff * Fosters a culture of teamwork within the region by promoting the "big picture" * Willing to give credit for success to others (not always about "me") * Competent and comfortable in problem solving and conflict resolution * Attacks problems with a great sense of urgency * Confident in making administrative and procedural decisions and judgments * Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office * Ability to research and gather data, compile information, and prepare reports * In-depth knowledge of marketing concepts and strategies * Strong time management skills * Goal oriented; always striving to exceed forecasts and expectations * Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Expected to be on the job (in the office or in front of customers) during our normal business day (8:00am -5:00PM) * Frequent driving and talking occur in this position * May be required to stand or sit for extended periods of time * This position sometimes requires sitting at a desk utilizing a computer and monitor as well as frequent use of tablets and mobile devices * May experience moderate noise levels throughout the day * Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. * Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Employee assistance program * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Professional development assistance * Retirement plan * Vision insurance Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Ability to Commute: * Atlanta, GA 30336 (Required) Ability to Relocate: * Atlanta, GA 30336: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
