Full description of the position
Territory Sales Representative - Building Materials -Segmental Wall Sales ORCO Block & Hardscape, a leading manufacturer of concrete masonry block, interlocking pavers, segmental retaining walls, and sacked cementitious products for over 75 years, is seeking experienced sales representatives for local territories throughout southern CA. Depending on role, this position will be based in one of the following ORCO plants - Riverside or Stanton (Headquarters). The preferred candidate has a thorough knowledge of hardscape products - including concrete pavers, stackable mortarless walls. This position is heavy on segmental dry stack wall sales. In addition, the candidate has demonstrated success selling to Engineers designing retaining walls also calling on building material dealers and contractors. Professional sales and presentation skills a must. All candidates must provide examples of being both a relationship builder and creative self-starter. This role requires an individual who is adaptable and detail oriented. Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft office applications with a preference given to those with CRM experience. Must be able to lightly understand blueprint plans. Responsibilities and Duties This is not work from home position, you will be in your sales territory or your base office during work hours. Achieve sales revenue and margin targets. Cultivate relationships with customers throughout the territory. Actively participate in industry associations and trade shows. Become ORCO's expert on current/future projects and opportunities in assigned territory. Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge on products, installation methods, construction standards, customer needs and services, as well as an understanding of local competitive products. Daily activities: account maintenance, cold calling, sales presentations, building displays, providing demonstrations to engineers and architects, conducting educational seminars, resolving issues and complaints, etc. Effectively communicate new ideas and feedback to sales manager. Qualifications and Skills Strong work ethic. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Technical aptitude. Problem solver with a construction mind. Installation methods are a must to learn to understand. 3 years of sales experience within the building material industry and/or construction. Verifiable knowledge and application of sales techniques including sales call preparation, execution, and time management. An ideal candidate will be assertive, confident, coachable, and a strategic thinker. Soft skills include empathy, likeability, and positivity. Education: Bachelor's degree in business, communications or relatable field or eight years of direct experience performing the responsibilities and proficiency in the skills listed above. Requirements: Valid California driver's license with excellent driving record. Able to lift and carry at least 60 lbs. for 10 feet. Able to work legally in the United States Pre-employment background check and drug test is required.
