Homans Associates (HA) is a subsidiary of the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company in the world, Watsco, Inc. We proudly distribute the Mitsubishi and Bryant brands of HVAC equipment, as well as a full line of HVAC residential and commercial parts, supplies, and accessories. We have locations throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey. We currently have an opening for a Territory Manager in the Westchester County area, based out of our Elmsford NY. branch. There is no relocation assistance offered for this position. Company Website: [please apply online] ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources. * Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone. * Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features. * Negotiates pricing based on what the market will bear while maintaining profit goals of the company. * Achieve or exceed territory sales budget as well as contributing additional sales to help achieve overall regional sales budgets. * Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained. * Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's delivery schedules. * Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts. * Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database. * Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts along with providing information to help set usage levels. * Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries and products. * Attends trade shows. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS * Associate degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school. * Minimum of three (3) years Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Wholesale Distribution Sales experience. * Technical knowledge of HVAC equipment, parts supplies and accessories service and installation. * In-depth knowledge of warehouse, purchasing, data processing, paper flow and operations procedures. * Must have the ability to negotiate transactions on an intra- and inter-company level. Must possess the ability to mediate situations among customers as they arise. TECHNICAL SKILLS * Beginner to intermediate user of the Internet and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook). * Ability to learn new software quickly and accurately. * Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license along with continuous and current vehicle insurance based on Company policy.
