Design Consultant | Account Manager Reports to Director of Sales & Design Job Overview This is a commission-based, full-time sales professional position with a flexible schedule. Work location is a combination of in-field/client's homes, design work from home, in-office meetings/reviews, showroom consultations, and networking within the Columbia/Midlands area. A designer must be available to take 4-6 appointments a week typically Monday-Friday with the possibility for an evening or weekend appointment, if client's schedule doesn't allow for weekday, day-time appointments, or when there is a need to be responsive to the client's requests. Consultants in this position are highly successful if they have a strong historic sales record in relationship selling, especially with luxury residential investments for active, successful professionals of high net worth. Ability to measure, design, and be technically (computer/basic engineering) and detail oriented is a must. Individuals who thrive on establishing relationships and word of mouth reputation, as well as the desire to build and maintain strong relationships will have strong conversion rates and higher average sales. Individuals who thrive on a "sky is the limit" incentive-commission structure are a great fit. Responsibilities and Duties On a regular basis an Account Manager/Designer has the following responsibilities: - Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas on a monthly basis: - Director of Sales & Design will work with all team members to annually plan and regularly review a forecast of monthly quotas for the year, target mix of work, target close rate, target appointments per week and average sale size. - Conduct on average 4-6, 30-90 minute new and/or follow-up appointments per week which are scheduled either by our administrative assistant or yourself. Appointment location - In-home consultations, virtual, showroom w/floor plans, or combination depending on what the situation requires - Follow-up appointments may be in-home, virtual or in our showroom Consultations include all of the following: - Build rapport with the client and set expectations of our process and product - Interview, listen and accurately capture customer's organizational needs/requirements, challenges, timeline, priorities, and other related work - Accurately measure space, inventory belongings, take before photos, and identify physical obstructions and/or existing challenging conditions - Sometimes design off of elevation levels which requires reading architectural plans - Use technology, proprietary CAD system, to design highly functional organization spaces and for floor coating solutions spec out the work order requirements - Comfortably discuss options that meet client's needs, lifestyle, interests and budget - using value-based engineering vs. discount engineering - Accurately and quickly price projects and alternatives - Tools / materials used and provided: Surface Pro, 3D CAD, Microsoft office & CRM Touch Point software; physical samples and brochures, Digital field notes and photo galleries, laser measure, water meter for flooring. - Self-provided: Must have reliable/presentable vehicle for in-home consultations. - Physical requirements: Must be able to walk up and down stairs, get into tight and sometimes cluttered spaces, bend/kneel to get measurements. - After consultations, complete designs and price quotes in a timely manner and review/negotiate with client - Mark results of appointment including follow-up appointments in the CRM - Complete design, send email/call to discuss design and finalize any open pricing alternatives/quotes in 3D proprietary software - Review designs as needed with the client, follow-up on open engineering/product questions in a timely manner - Provide options and design iterations as needed, seek QA review from Director of Sales and Design on designs/contracts for engineering/pricing etc. - Guide client to solutions that still use engineering standards and feasibility for installation. - Follow-up in a timely manner within 24-48 hours. For complex/large projects or if situation allows, expectations should be set on longer timelines. - Follow and match the sales cycle and client communication style, handle objections, negotiate, close the sale - Must be able to present high $ solutions to high-end clientele and show the value (we are not price discounting negotiators; we are value driven consultants) - Must be able to ask for the sale - Professional emails, phone calls and responsive timelines are a must - Level of detail and style may vary by client - Follow through with design and installation processes using technology and collaboration to ensure a clean, error-free outcome and best possible customer experience - Review designs with engineering and procurement via phone calls/in-person - Answer open points/questions about designs in a timely manner to meet order deadlines - Connect with installer regarding the installation, help to troubleshoot any issues that may arise with installer and client, walkthrough large projects on-site with the client, handle any follow-up/questions or open points that arise to you from the client, submit/follow up on issues to operations team in a timely, professional manner - Work with Installation Manager on client expectation setting and management as needed - Follow-up with clients regarding satisfaction and additional opportunities - Follow-up with customers throughout and after the process to ensure customer is highly satisfied and cultivate repeat and referral business - Establish new and maintain existing accounts: - Work with the Director of Sales and Design to prospect and establish new account/partner relationships and onboard the account - Maintain accounts through regular touchpoints, training/events, and networking - Attend regular networking events - Attend and participate in company/sales team training calls/events: - Weekly sales pipeline call (individual/group) - Monthly sales team training - Attend/participate in company meeting/training as required (virtual, in- person) - Complete necessary training to stay abreast of product/technology updates and to improve sales and professional skills - Complete administration tasks: - Maintain CRM Touch Point calendar for appointment scheduling and manage to block time for appointments, design, admin, training and networking - Create/Maintain quotes in the CRM Touch Point system and submit monthly sales pipeline information - Submit details for all orders, keeping documentation organized digitally with proper file names, following documentation standards/details - Create and maintain individual weekly sales pipeline, plan/forecast quarterly/annual account and overall sales targets, review/analyze performance against targets - Manage opportunities and opportunity status in CRM Touch Point - Represent company values with all parties - suppliers, team members regardless of level, partners, professional organizations, community and clients Qualifications - Strong historic sales record, relevant industry and/or clientele (strongly recommended).
