Full description of the position

Do you have experience selling into the K-12 Education Market? Have you sold educational technology, audio visual solutions, flexible furniture, and/or school and campus security solutions? If so, we invite you to apply as we are looking for talented and competitive Business Development Managers. Key responsibilities include the following: * Create and execute a strategic sales plan that uses industry data in conjunction with anecdotal evidence to identify and prioritize key districts within their assigned territory. * Develop and build a balanced pipeline of new business opportunities by leveraging existing industry relationships, participating in one-to-many marketing events, qualifying inbound sales leads and cold calling potential clients. * Consistently exceed quarterly sales targets by actively engaging ELB resources as necessary to continually move new business through the sales cycle and successfully close existing sales opportunities. * Consult with district leaders and key decision makers to develop a deep understanding of current educational needs, challenges and trends in order to offer solutions that are uniquely tailored to each customer's needs. * Arrange pre-sale trials and provide expert demonstrations that showcase how ELB's education solutions can be integrated into existing teacher practice to meet the needs of today's 21st century learners. * Accurately maintain customer information, manage the sales pipeline/funnel, provide accurate forecasts, prepare quotes, respond to RFP's and track account activity within Salesforce. * Ensure market insights, business intelligence and customer feedback is communicated through the proper channels to the appropriate departments at ELB. Required skills and abilities: * Be a sales professional with 3-6 years of experience selling education technology solutions, audio visual solutions, flexible furniture, and/or school and campus security into K-12 and post-secondary institutions using a solutions based and/or consultative sales approach. * Demonstrate success exceeding quarterly revenue targets by prospecting, building client relationships, growing accounts, advancing new opportunities and closing existing business. * Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and be able to adapt these skills to confidently demonstrate and articulate the value of ELB's solutions to various stakeholders and key-decision makers. * Possess sound knowledge of local education issues and pedagogic principles in K-12 and post-secondary education. * Demonstrate a true passion for classroom technology and its ability to transform the teaching and learning process. * Be able to communicate fluently (oral and written) in English. The following skills and abilities would be considered an asset: * Formal classroom teaching experience or experience working in a support role within a K-12 or post secondary institution. * Established relationships with education administrators in local/regional/national education organizations. * Experience working with interactive technologies in a traditional classroom, a virtual learning space or other formal teaching environments. * Experience working at an advisory level either within a school or a local/regional/national education authority environment.
