Full description of the position

Overview The primary responsibility of the Sports Field/ Grounds & Vehicle Specialist is developing a formal market development and sales plan for the sale primarily of electric utility and transport vehicles and parking enforcement vehicles. Secondarily, will be responsible for growing the *Sports Field & Grounds product line. *Work requires substantial knowledge of items sold in both areas of responsibility. NOTE: Equipment sales, golf cart sales, grounds sales strongly preferred. Any experience in turf would be a big plus! Vehicle sales from a competitor would be an asset as well! Build a loyal customer base through analytics and supporting team members (e.g., leading by example and coaching) to ensure a great customer and employee experience, including assessing needs, providing technical product education, and supporting various programs. This position sells to municipalities, law and parking enforcement, schools and higher education, distribution and transportation centers, airports, and hospitality. Interacts professionally with customers, coworkers, colleagues, vendors, third-party vendors, and all levels of company personnel. Communicates information professionally, clearly, and effectively verbally and in writing. The candidate must reside within the Los Angeles and Orange County region. This position reports to the Regional General Manager, Ownership, and the Management Team. This is a full-time, salaried, outside sales, and exempt position. Overnight travel is required. This is a physically active position, including actively demonstrating equipment, onsite potential/customer visits, team meetings, physically loading/unloading/hauling a trailer, and active participation in employee and customer events, field days, and trade shows. Prerequisites for this position include: Five to ten years of proven experience selling utility vehicles or a similar industry. Five to ten years of proven experience in leading a sales team. Professionalism in providing a positive customer experience. Proven daily use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proven intermediate to advanced digital proficiency. Must excel in creating worksheets, word processing, internet navigation, and utilizing note and proprietary software. Proven ability to forecast, develop, and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and profit plans with clearly defined goals. Possess a valid State of California driver's license or obtain a valid State of California driver's license within 30 days of the hire date. Clean motor vehicle record. Desire to maximize customer and employee satisfaction. PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION: Develop and implement a sales and marketing plan to penetrate, grow, and dominate the commercial electric vehicle market. Determine the needed resources to develop the California market into an annual 200-400 (quantity) car sales plan. The focus is initially on *California 's major metropolitan market, the Los Angeles Basin. *Once the regional vehicle market plan is established, the SFGVS will focus on developing and expanding new sports fields and grounds business. Provide in-depth product training to current staff. Identify prospective customers using leads from existing sales staff and customers, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Requires telephone conversations. Requires use of electronic mail. Responds to emails and voicemails promptly. Requires proficiency in composing letters and memorandums. Implement and model company core values and service standards Serve/Attitude/Learn/Score. Daily use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and managing "opportunities" (sales leads). Maintains professional appearance of company-provided vehicle and trailer. Follows the preventative maintenance and service schedule of the assigned vehicle/trailer. Recommends products to customers based on customers' needs and interests. Provides accurate quotes, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates. Requires proficiency and efficiency in managing financial transactions, including lease agreements and payouts , to effectively support customer needs and facilitate successful sales processes. Consult with customers after sales to provide ongoing support and solve problems that may arise throughout the life of the equipment purchased. Provide customers with product literature and catalogs. Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms. Monitors market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales. Performs administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports. Contact regular and prospective customers to schedule demonstrations, explain product features, and solicit orders. Negotiate prices or other sales terms. Requires working in a closed vehicle or equipment. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires intermediate to advanced digital skills, encompassing the creation of worksheets, word processing, internet navigation, utilization of note software, and proprietary industry-specific software.
