The Program: An experience lasting the entire 2025 Racing season. Crafted to jumpstart your career in sports sales. This position provides paid training, hands-on experience, direct exposure to CDRT leadership, and access to a personal mentor on the full-time sales team. Thus, offering an excellent foundation for ambitious individuals seeking growth opportunities not only within the organization but in the sports and entertainment industry. This program is designed to develop high-potential talent, with continued advancement at CDRT as the goal based on achievement in the program and performance milestones. Our mission is to help develop your career in sports and entertainment sales while providing opportunities to directly produce high revenue generating sales along the way. Internal advancement will also be contingent on open opportunity within the organization. Consumer Sales has been a jumpstart program for individuals to gain opportunities as Group Sales Representatives, Special Event Managers, Premium Sales Managers, and Sponsorship Activation Coordinators here at Churchill Downs and developed highly productive individuals into similar account manager roles with other sports and entertainment companies. Consumer Sales Representatives play a key role in the growth of CDRT's ticket sales, focused on selling B2B, B2C, Suite purchasers, Turf Club guests, groups (<12) and Kentucky Derby/Oaks guests. You will be expected to work Churchill Downs' most premium dates, including Kentucky Derby/Oaks, Derby Week 2026, Mother's Day, Downs After Dark, and Thanksgiving. Pay for this role is $15 per hour, with possible OT after 40 hours, which is paid at time and a half. This role is also commissionable based on personal sales and Churchill Downs commission structure. Required Dates: Derby Week 2026 Kentucky Derby/Oaks 152 *Mother 's Day Downs After Dark (May and June) Thanksgiving Additional Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Sports Management or related field preferred * Relevant sales or service experience/internship with a professional sports team, college, or entertainment venue is preferred, but not required * Prior direct phone sales or customer service experience * Passion for growing a career in sports sales * Consistently demonstrate ability to be a big picture thinker, agile, development focused, inspiring, and humble * Proficient computer skills including experience with MS Office products, including but not limited to, Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn new programs * Strength in time management, administrative ability, organization, and customer service skills * Ability to communicate effectively with the public in a professional manner * Must possess a professional attitude and demeanor * Knowledge of sales techniques, negotiation and closing skills preferred * Knowledge of Salesforce CRM and Archtics ticketing platform preferred, but not required * Will adjust schedule as needed to meet goals and time constraints, including working nights, weekends, and holidays * A valid Driver's License and a good driving record Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
