Full description of the position

Description: The Accounts Payable Manager will be responsible for overseeing all processing of day-to-day accounts payable, customer reimbursements, and related preparation and review of all standard accounting/department records and reports. This position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage workflow for high- volume activity in a fast-paced, growing nonprofit. How you 'll be spending your time: * Managing accounts payable daily activities, including invoice entry, general ledger coding, payment processing, filing and data storage, and new vendor setups creating process efficiencies as needed. * Auditing, researching and resolving invoice discrepancies/issues and reconcile vendor payments on a weekly basis. * Assisting in the preparation of month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, ensuring all accounts payable related accounts are reconciled monthly. * Preparing and submit reports related to accounts payable activities, including aged payables, payment forecasts, and vendor payment histories. * Assisting with annual and periodic financial audits as needed. * Developing and maintaining new vendor records to comply with organizational and program requirements including Tax Identification Number (TIN) matching, From W-9, OIG Exclusion clearance, etc. * Leading year-end 1099 preparation and maintaining W-9 records. Managing the preparation of required tax statements and reporting and ensure they are distributed accurately and in a timely fashion. * Monitoring developments of key tax compliance related to the accounts payable function and maintain sufficient knowledge to identify potential tax issues to discuss with management proactively. * Supervising, building and maintaining a high-performance team through understanding team competencies, effective recruitment, performance management, employee development, and efficient communication that drives positive employee engagement. * Supervising all aspects of accounting records preparation for accounts payable, including general ledger. * Managing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external business partners and respond to requests/inquiries. * Developing, reports and evaluating KPI's for the Accounts Payable processes to management on a regular basis. * Facilitating and promoting activities and communications, which consistently emphasize customer satisfaction. * Developing and recommending systems and procedures to improve the operations of the accounts payable department * Driving standardization by continuous reviewing of all accounts payable processes to streamline operations, improve customer service, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency in processing high volumes of weekly transactions. * All other duties as assigned. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. * 5+ years of experience in accounts payable or related field. Strong knowledge of general accounting principles is preferred. * 2+ years of experience in managing a team. * Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and financial software experience. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
