Base Salary $50,000-$65,000 with uncapped commissions About Us Opterra Solutions is a leader in providing innovative and sustainable stormwater management solutions. We help municipalities, commercial developers, industrial clients, and private property owners meet regulatory requirements while protecting local waterways and ecosystems. Our services range from system design and installation to long-term maintenance, inspections, and compliance support. Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to support our growing stormwater services division. As a BDR, you will be responsible for generating and qualifying leads, building relationships with prospective clients, and helping expand our footprint in the stormwater services market. You'll work closely with the sales and technical teams to identify client needs and deliver customized solutions. Key Responsibilities * Prospect and identify new business opportunities through outbound calls, emails, networking, events, and digital outreach * Qualify inbound leads and assess project needs, budget, and timelines * Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of municipal, commercial, and industrial clients * Build strong relationships with civil engineers, contractors, facility managers, and regulatory agencies * Collaborate with internal teams to prepare proposals, quotes, and presentations * Stay informed on local, state, and federal stormwater regulations and communicate updates to clients * Maintain accurate records in the CRM and report on sales activities and results * Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events as needed QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES * High school diploma or equivalent * Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred * Experience of previous work-related skill, knowledge or experience preferred * Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, track, and analyze large amounts of data * Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate using various digital methods PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and the ability to drive company vehicles * Must have the ability to sit, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 5-10 hours a day * Must have the ability to infrequently lift, push, pull, or move 25 pounds or more * Must have the ability to travel 50 - 75% by vehicle, with overnight travel throughout territory * Must be able to physically evaluate customer sites using required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Exemplify our five core values (Safety, Others, Integrity, Initiative, and Passion) * Use a variety of techniques including face-to-face sales, telephone sales, cold calling, emails, conferences, and similar * Communicate with clients to understand their needs and explain our service or product value * Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate client need fulfillment * Keep accurate records, prepare proposals, and other administrative tasks using company-designated software and methods * Adhere to company policies and procedures * Adhere to safety procedures including conforming to all OSHA standards and properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) * Recognize and report any hazardous conditions or behaviors and defective equipment * Complete daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual goals and quotas * Operate company-vehicle safely * Confer with supervisors to make sales decisions * Participate in company meetings, trainings, and state licensure programs * Perform other duties as assigned Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Supplemental Pay: * Commission pay * Monthly bonus Work Location: In personNaturChem, Inc.
