Job Title: Entry Level Director of Sales Location: Comfort Inn - RIDC Park, located in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Overview: This position offers an exciting opportunity for an energetic and motivated individual to step into the sales function within a hotel environment. As an Entry Level Director of Sales, you will play a crucial role in actively pursuing sales opportunities, managing group bookings efficiently, and cultivating strong relationships with local companies and organizations to drive revenue for the hotel. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: * Active Sales Efforts: You will be responsible for identifying and targeting potential clients, including local businesses, event planners, sports teams, and other groups that could utilize the hotel's accommodations and facilities. This may involve: * Conducting proactive outreach through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits to businesses and organizations in the Greater Pittsburgh area. * Researching potential leads and developing strategies to secure new business. * Participating in local networking events and industry gatherings to build relationships and generate leads. * Conducting site tours for prospective clients, showcasing the hotel's amenities and services. * Managing Group Bookings: You will be the primary point of contact for group inquiries, responsible for managing the entire booking process from initial contact to final confirmation. This includes: * Responding promptly and professionally to group inquiries, providing detailed information about rates, availability, and hotel services. * Negotiating rates and contract terms to maximize revenue while meeting client needs. * Creating and managing group booking contracts and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately. * Coordinating with other hotel departments (e.g., front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage) to ensure smooth and successful group stays. * Company Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with local companies will be a key aspect of this role. This involves: * Identifying companies with regular accommodation needs for employees, clients, or events. * Developing and implementing strategies to secure preferred partnerships and corporate rates. * Providing ongoing support and communication to corporate clients to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business. * Sales Administration and Reporting: You will be responsible for maintaining accurate sales records and providing regular reports on sales activities and results. This may include: * Utilizing sales software and other tools to track leads, manage bookings, and generate reports. * Preparing sales presentations and proposals for potential clients. * Contributing to the development of sales and marketing strategies. * Compliance and Requirements: * Maintaining a valid driver's license and current auto insurance is essential for local travel and client visits. Requirements: * A minimum of two (2) years of experience working within a hotel environment. This could include roles in front desk management, guest services, reservations, or other operational areas that provided exposure to hotel sales processes and client interactions. * OR, a minimum of one (1) year of proven experience in a sales role, preferably within the hospitality industry but other relevant sales experience will be considered. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. * Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. * A proactive and results-oriented approach to sales. * Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). * A valid driver's license and auto insurance. * A positive and energetic attitude with a strong customer service orientation.
