Full description of the position

Summary: The Estimator provides sales support to Regional Managers during the project development phase and manages the bids for the company to ensure successful sale of work throughout the United Sates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Reviewing and researching tank specifications prior to bid stage. * Attend pre-bid and bid opening meetings. * Develop requests for information (RFI's) to ensure all questions with respect to project plans and specifications have been addressed. * Develop requests for quotation (RFQ's), requests for proposal (RFP's) or Proposals depending on the requirement of the project for ruse in bid preparation. * Perform calculations as necessary for complete and thorough bid preparation. * Evaluate and provide recommendations to management on qualifications and pricing of potential subcontractors. * Assist in assembling bid packages and proposals for submittal. * Customer development and maintenance. This includes initial sales calls both form office and in person, periodic sales visits, post bid communications post award communications. * Contract review and negotiations. This includes the review of customer contracts and understanding potential issues and the ability to review and explain these issues with the customer. * Seeks out and researches prospective projects through making phone calls, traveling, attending conferences, and utilizing the Internet. * Markets new and existing customers through creation, development, and implementation of various business solutions. * Provides support to upper management in deal negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and other business development or alliance development projects. * Assists the marketing department with the planning of marketing and promotions, including advertising, special sales, and subsidiary rights. * Attend Trade Shows as needed. Education and/or Experience: B.S. degree with a preference for a degree in Engineering (Mechanical), Construction Management or a related field; and, two to four (2-4) years of experience. Experience may be substituted on a year- for-year basis for education. Language Skills: A bility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Advanced mathematical skills are required for this position. The successful candidate must have the ability to calculate and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and other high level mathematics in the preparation of calculation quantities for bid preparation. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram for and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office products, in particularly, Excel, Word. A working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Power Point is preferred. Other Qualifications: Must have valid driver's license and clear driving record. Occasional travel required.
