Sales Engineer (Security, Surveillance, & Access Control) About Us EMCI Wireless is a leading provider of advanced communication and security solutions across Florida. Our Security, Surveillance, & Access Control division specializes in delivering state-of-the-art systems to public safety, commercial, industrial, and local government markets. Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Engineer to support and drive sales efforts for our Avigilon and Vigilant Solutions fixed video, license plate recognition, and access control projects. These product portfolios are comprised of on-premises and cloud-based solutions. The Sales Engineer will partner with the sales and technical teams to understand client needs, design tailored solutions, and deliver compelling proposals. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and a customer- focused mindset. Location : Orlando or Tampa, Florida Employment Type: Full-Time, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Compensation : $85,000-$105,000/yr., paid biweekly Travel Requirement : This role involves frequent travel to job sites around Florida, typically 3-4 days per week. Travel is primarily day trips with occasional overnight stays for projects. Key Responsibilities * Technical Consultation: Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and propose tailored solutions using Avigilon Unity, Avigilon Alta, and other Motorola Solutions' product lines. * Solution Design: Develop system designs, including network layouts, equipment lists, device placement, and infrastructure requirements. * Client Engagement: Present solutions to clients, addressing technical questions and ensuring clear communication of value propositions. * Proposal Development: Partner with the sales support team to prepare detailed proposals, including system specifications, statements of work, pricing, and timelines. * Technical Training: Provide training to customers and internal teams on product capabilities and usage. * Market Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings. * Customer Support: Assist with post-sale support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution as needed. Minimum Qualifications Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications, but training will be provided to develop the preferred qualifications. Pay rates will be based on candidate qualifications and skill set. * Drug Screening: Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. * Background Check : Must pass a pre-employment background check with no criminal convictions. * Age & Work Eligibility: Must be 18 years of age or older and legally eligible to work in the United States. * Driver 's License: Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. * Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. * Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently. * Initiative: Must be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously. * Professional Appearance: Must maintain a clean and professional appearance. * Customer Focused : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. * Problem Solver : Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently. * Travel : Willingness to travel to customer sites across Florida as needed. * Customer Service : Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer service, with a strong ability to manage client relationships and resolve issues effectively. * Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. * Computer Proficiency: Must be familiar with navigating and using software programs on a computer, including installation, configuration, and basic troubleshooting. * Networking & Electronics: Must have an adept understanding of computer networking principles and electronics technology. * Experience : 3+ years in technical sales or sales engineering role, preferably in security and surveillance systems working with on-premises and cloud-based solutions. Preferred Qualifications * Product-Specific Experience: Previous experience in managing security, surveillance, and access control projects, particularly with Avigilon and Vigilant Solutions products. * Technical Knowledge : Understanding of video security, license plate recognition, and access control systems, including installation and configuration processes. * Certifications: Relevant industry certifications, such as PMP, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or similar credentials in project management, low voltage cabling, networking, or security systems. * Education: Bachelor's degree in business, project management, engineering, technology, or a related field. * Advanced Networking Skills: Familiarity with advanced networking concepts, including IP addressing, subnetting, VLAN configuration, and network troubleshooting. * Google Suite: Expertise with the Google application suite, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, and other related tools.
