About the role: The Mortgage Sales Manager is responsible for carrying out strategic initiatives, sales development, monitoring team performance, providing member service, training staff, and personal loan production by working with the Operations, Servicing, and Home Managers to ensure origination documentation is completed accurately and conforms to PACU policies and procedures, including but not limited to Investor and Secondary market policies and procedures. The member experience will be the primary focus by educating and teaching the power of homeownership, building generational wealth, and making the American Dream accessible to everyone. This role is personally responsible for overseeing the mortgage loan production and meeting or exceeding the budgeted origination goals for the first mortgage MLOs. Major Duties and Responsibilities: * Coaches, mentors, and develops Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) on creating the ultimate member experience in all aspects of housing finance. The primary source of originations will leverage data and technology within PACU to educate members using a consultative sales approach. The secondary source of origination will maintain and develop outside referral relationships (vendors, realtors, builders, etc.) by sharing various training opportunities to develop referral contacts. * Maintains a personal pipeline of referred mortgage loan requests and employee loans. Personal closing goals will be a minimum of $1,000,000 on average per month and will be reset annually as needed. * Maintains a positive culture and work experience by successfully collaborating with Operations, Servicing, and Home Equity Teams to ensure a smooth workflow for the benefit of membership. * With a focus on education, lead the sales team in providing a best-in-class home buyer education platform (both virtual and in-person) that builds relationships through a consultative sales approach. * Collaborates with the VP of Mortgage to drive strategy and develop the correct product offerings to meet the needs of the members. Maintains a solid working knowledge of the PenAir Credit Union product suite and a high-level understanding of competitors' product offerings and how these could impact PACU's future product offerings. * Provide direction and recommendations to management, based on research data, regarding department efficiencies and market strategies that meet the Credit Union's mission and values. * Maintains regular coaching sessions, both individually and in groups, with the sales team while monitoring sales performance and key metrics to identify growth opportunities. Fosters a high-energy, results-driven environment with ongoing training, coaching, and incentives. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: * Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Experience using social media platforms to educate and originate is preferred. * Education/Certifications/Licenses : (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. * Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position. * Other Skills: Strong supervisory abilities, proficiency in PC (technology), compliance expertise, leadership, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
