Full description of the position

At Imperial, we sell, distribute, and service General Merchandise, Seasonal Products, and Health/Beauty/Wellness products to our customers. The Account Manager plays a critical role in managing the customer(s) account, ensuring customer needs are met and understood by each department within the company. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and a deep understanding of the products or services offered by the company. The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact between the organization and its customer(s), working to understand their needs, address concerns, and drive revenue through upselling and cross-selling opportunities. Travel required- Tewksbury MA (weekly), RI, MA, NH, Maine Key Responsibilities include: Client Relationship Management: * Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their business goals, challenges, and expectations. * Serve as the main point of contact for customer inquiries, requests, and issue resolution. Account Development: * Identify opportunities for account growth and upselling based on an understanding of the customer's business and industry trends. * Collaborate with internal teams to develop and propose solutions that meet the customer's evolving needs. * Participate in weekly (or as required) customer partnership meetings to coordinate sales efforts for business growth, improve processes and resolve customer challenges. * Develop creative and unique merchandising plans and marketing programs to increase sales in our customer's stores. * Periodically prepare and present business updates to Imperial leadership team. Strategic Planning: * Work with customer to develop strategic account plans aligned with their business objectives and the company's offerings (Joint Business Planning sessions (JBP). * Continuously assess account performance and adjust strategies to ensure long-term success. * Prepare and present quarterly joint business plans and annual business reviews. Communication: * Clearly and effectively communicate the value proposition of the company's products or services to customer(s). * Communicate sales forecasts to Imperial's procurement team for select items in Imperial's and customer's product portfolio. * Provide regular updates to the customer on relevant industry news, product enhancements, and other information that may impact their business. Sales Planning & Execution * Work with Imperial procurement and customer service to insure execution of flow of goods management for new item launches, reserved goods, seasonal items, category resets, new store openings, and disposition plans for delisted SKUs. * Execute planograms and product resets to meet customer's deadlines. Cross-functional Collaboration: * Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless experience for the customer. * Coordinate with various departments to address client needs and resolve issues promptly. Data Analysis: * Utilize data and analytic tools to assess account, track key performance indicators, and identify areas for improvement leading to the development of category recommendations. * Provide the customer with reports and insights to showcase the impact of the company's products or services on their business. * Development of sales forecasts, sales budgets, P&L management. Other requirement & responsibilities: * Oversee the daily operations of in-store service team. * Other duties as requested. Qualifications: * Four-year degree required (work related experience will be considered in place of formal degree) * 2-5 years sales and merchandising experience with GM (general merchandise) and HBC (Health and Beauty Care) product categories * 2-5 years of Account Management, Retail Sales Management, Category or Sales Analyst or Operations Management in experience in a retail environment * Supermarket industry experience * Overnight Travel Required * Proficient in Microsoft Office, * Knowledge of AS400, and/or Warehouse Management Systems Software programs, and Sequel, preferred. * Customer centric, highly motivated, and analytical thinker Imperial is an Equal Opportunity Employer A full comprehensive job description is available during the interview process.
