Leasing Consultant - Legacy Properties of Tacoma LLC Legacy Properties of Tacoma LLC proudly owns and manages several apartment communities in the Historic Stadium District of Tacoma. We're looking for a Leasing Consultant to join our dedicated team and help us grow in this fast-paced, rewarding industry About the Role As the Leasing Consultant, you'll be the face of our company -- responsible for attracting new residents, maintaining positive relationships with current residents, and ensuring a smooth leasing process. This role is ideal for a people-oriented, detail-driven professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast- paced environment. Key Responsibilities Leasing & Marketing * Advertise available apartments daily across various platforms (including online listings and social media). * Take high-quality photos of units and stage them for marketing. * Research the local rental market to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. * Maintain and grow our online presence to attract qualified leads. * Schedule and conduct property tours with prospective residents. * Match prospective residents with homes that suit their needs and lifestyle. * Follow up with prospects and process lease applications. * Maintain a strong understanding of lease terms, policies, and community guidelines. Resident Relations & Customer Service * Serve as the primary point of contact for both current and prospective residents. * Handle service requests and coordinate with maintenance as needed. * Conduct move-in and move-out inspections. * Respond professionally and promptly to all resident inquiries. * Promote a positive, welcoming atmosphere at all times. Administrative Duties * Accept and process rent payments, deposits, and applicable fees. * Manage lease renewals and prepare monthly renewal offers. * Maintain accurate records of tenant files, communications, and leasing activity. * Respond promptly and professionally to all incoming phone calls and emails. * Use AppFolio property management software daily for leasing, billing, and communication. * Process all move-in and move-out paperwork thoroughly and on time. * Prepare and send all required notices, including legal notices and reminders. * Ensure full compliance with Fair Housing laws, landlord-tenant regulations, and company policies. The ideal candidate will: * Be naturally friendly and enthusiastic with strong communication skills. * Feel comfortable engaging with people in person and on the phone -- not shy or hesitant. * Maintain a professional, polished appearance and demeanor. * Work independently but also as a team when needed. * Stay focused, task-oriented, and avoid workplace gossip or drama. * Take pride in their workspace and keep the office guest-ready. * Be creative, strategic, and hands-on with marketing efforts. * Handle challenges with a solution-focused, calm approach. * Respect professional boundaries and maintain confidentiality with residents. Qualifications Experience: * Property management or leasing experience is highly preferred. * Customer service or administrative experience is also valuable. Education: * High school diploma or equivalent required. * More importantly, candidates must be well-spoken, respectful, and professional in all communication. Skills & Knowledge: * Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. * Strong general computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly (especially AppFolio). * Excellent verbal and written communication. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Understanding of Fair Housing and landlord-tenant laws is a plus. * A creative eye for marketing, photography, and staging.
