Company Overview: Based in Natick, Massachusetts, StratComm, Inc. is a project management firm. We manage large, high-profile, often mission-critical programs worldwide for major Federal Agencies including the U.S Department of State, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Education, the Social Security Administration, the Treasury Department and many other prominent companies and government agencies. We are now celebrating our 45th year in business. Job Summary: We have an immediate opening for a well-organized, experienced Business Development Manager with a demonstrated background of success in developing and implementing capture plans and proposal development for Federal/Government contracts. The ideal applicant The ideal applicant is someone with government contracting experience and an entrepreneurial spirit who has worked for a small business engaged in government contracting. Someone with an established record of identifying and winning federal contracts. This position presents an opportunity to grow with a career path leading to Director of Business Development. We need a hard charging business development professional who can cover all bases identifying and researching opportunities, to fully self-developing RFIs and RFPs for submission to the Federal government. This is a significant opportunity for someone who enjoys business development and is seeking an opportunity to grow and play a larger role. NOTE: While this position is primarily remote, the ideal candidate would reside in either Massachusetts, Rhode Island or New Hampshire, although applicants from DC, VA and MD, near our DC office, would be considered. The Business Development Manager will leverage their experience in targeting the Federal/Government to market, identify, develop, qualify and capture new business opportunities for StratComm. They will use their knowledge and awareness of the federal services sector to grow the company. They will be held responsible for measurable growth through sales in the services sector. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Support business development and client management efforts including initiating calls to prospective clients, preparing capability briefings and information packets, conducting client and partner meetings to uncover, create opportunities that lead to new business and expand relationships * Identify, contact, and build relationships with key business partners to create winning proposal teams * Analyze government marketplace to identify business opportunities that match company capabilities and experience * Complete all documentation required for timely proposal submission * Collect and incorporate proposal documentation, both business and technical, from all team members to ensure timely proposal package delivery * Work with CFO to develop a winning price strategy * Evaluate the competitive landscape, incumbent information, and determine potential win/loss scenarios * Conduct capture planning, manage proposal preparation, submission, closure and follow up * Use consultative selling techniques to better understand customer desires and thus create customer-centric solutions * Develop and implement multi-level and multi-dimensional customer contact plans and sales pipelines * Work with company staff to ensure all appropriate resources are utilized to respond to request for proposals * Identify and establish relationships with key government agencies and decision makers * Develop and maintain a prioritized pipeline * Be aware of win/loss analysis, lessons learned and related process improvements * Attend workshops, trade shows, and seminars to maintain deep understanding of market segment and customer environment in addition to making new relationships Minimum Requirements: * Five years of demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful capture plans for federal government contracts that include strategic planning skills, proposal writing in response to RFPs/RFQs/RFIs, developing and managing marketing, bid and proposal budgets * Knowledge and experience of Federal & Defense Industry Contracting with an understanding of FAR / DFAR * Bachelor's Degree or higher in a work-related field of study (Business, Marketing etc.) * Knowledge and experience with program management, program planning and execution * Proven ability to function with minimal supervision * Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Products to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, video and social media tools * Ability to work additional hours during peak times * Professional demeanor with excellent written and oral communication skills for interaction with all levels within the organization, along with external customers and vendors * Must be proactive and able to multi-task, prioritize, and handle a broad range of activities * Proven track record in penetrating and closing contracts with federal agencies, prime contractors, and private sector organizations * Verifiable Record of Business Growth * Proficiency in Bid and Proposal, to include technical writing, pricing, and staffing is a must * Able to pass a Federal background check * Experience with GovWin, SAM.gov, FedConnect, GSA and/or similar systems It is the policy of StratComm not to discriminate against any applicant for employment, or any employee because of age, color, sex, disability, national origin, race, religion, or veteran status.
