Full description of the position

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Production & Design Coordinator to support the design, production planning, and procurement activities for our crane, hoist, and electrical systems. This role requires a strong foundation in CAD, a sharp understanding of industrial scheduling, and experience with sourcing electrical and mechanical components. You'll work closely with engineering and operations to ensure our systems are built and delivered on time and to spec. Key Responsibilities: Design & CAD Support * Create and modify detailed CAD drawings (2D & 3D) for crane systems, hoists, and electrical panel layouts. * Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet project specs and comply with industry standards (e.g., OSHA, ASME B30). * Prepare drawings and documentation for fabrication and installation teams. Production Scheduling * Develop and maintain project-based production schedules, coordinating timelines across fabrication, assembly, and electrical integration. * Track job progress and proactively address schedule conflicts or material shortages. * Work closely with shop supervisors to balance workloads and prioritize tasks. Purchasing & Procurement * Source mechanical and electrical components, such as motors, VFDs, control panels, wire rope, and structural steel. * Manage vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery of parts. * Maintain accurate inventory levels and forecast material needs based on project pipeline. Team Coordination * Act as a liaison between engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams. * Coordinate with field service teams to prepare equipment for installation and delivery. * Support quality assurance by reviewing incoming parts against technical drawings and specs. Qualifications: * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or relevant technical experience. * Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent). * Familiar with industrial control systems, electrical schematics, and crane/hoist components. * Experience with production planning tools or ERP systems. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
