Overview: The Catering Sales Assistant provides support and assistance to the Catering Sales Manager and Catering Manager coordinating catering sales and event planning efforts. The job involves initiating and developing quality leads to ensure the growth of catering sales. The primary responsibility of a catering sales assistant is to assist the Catering Sales Manager and Catering Manager in developing existing business and catering sales marketing. Other important duties include assisting in booking, selling, planning, and coordinating all catered events while assuring the highest level of customer service. Generating revenue, establishing new accounts, monitoring catering details, keeping quality consistently high, and conducting catering sales presentations and calls also fall under the purview of a catering sales assistant job. This role will pay an hourly wage of $20 to $24 and is eligible for tips/gratuity when assisting during catering/banquet events. * Benefits for FT roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays). * This position will remain open until May 16, 2025. Responsibilities: * Assisting with menu and event planning * Participating in client and internal staff meetings * Discussing contract terms with clients * Basic accounting and payment handling * Creating event food and beverage signage * Answering emails and phone calls in the Catering Sales Manager's absence * Attending contracted events and assisting with event execution Qualifications: * Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference is given to those with catered events experience. * Basic computer proficiency: Gmail, Excel, Word, Outlook * Ability to work a variable schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending on the event and business requirements. * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to multitask, Organizational and Problem-solving skills.
