Full description of the position

Newly created role Hybrid Base + Commission Position Summary: Sales benefits consultant to support call center for the Direct-to-Blue Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) platform, where small group employers can buy benefits online. * Responds to leads delivered via HCSC marketing efforts and platform activity. * Assist employers select the right health insurance plan that fits their needs by applying working knowledge of product plans and general industry information. * Assisting groups with understanding BCBS products, and underwriting requirements (e.g., group size, required documents, etc.). * Effective negotiation and persuasion abilities to close and potentially cross-sell sales deals. * Ensure all submissions maintain quality and quantity standards, with a keen eye toward improving and refining processes wherever possible. Assist in obtaining missing information on insurance applications and securing other documents required by the carriers to generate policies. * An effective telesales representative must be an excellent communicator and have superior people skills. They must be comfortable presenting products or services over the phone as well as dealing with complaints and doubts. * Develop various forms of communications, including PowerPoint presentations, email messages, enrollment meetings, etc., for both producer and client audiences. Assist in the development of periodic sales reports, as needed. * Develop sales materials, enrollment kits, and inbound calls regarding general sales inquiries. Education, Experience, and Other Skills: * Bachelor's degree in business or marketing preferred. * Illinois insurance producer license, preferred. * 1-2 years of business-to-business sales experience within the employee benefits industry. * Experience working in a Telesales call queue environment, handling both inbound and outbound calls, preferred. * Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft applications and CRM software. * Self-starter, creative, and thrives under limited supervision. * Works well under pressure. * Rock star organization skills - you pay attention to the details that others might overlook. * Exceptional oral and written communication skills. * Strong presentation skills and experience explaining technical concepts to clients are crucial in this role. * Intellectually curious. * Growth Mindset. * Expertise in multi-tasking, organizing, and prioritizing. * Demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
