Merchandiser Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is in partnership with a prominent client in Lansing, MI, within the retail industry. Merchandiser Job Summary: * $21/hr * Average 30 hours a week * Merchandisers are responsible for product appearance and supply in various stores throughout their designated geographic area. By working closely with both suppliers and manufacturers, they make certain that the promotion of specific products and services will increase sales over a period of time * Daily travel to retail accounts of 1-2 hours. * There's no guaranteed number of hours, but on average, 30 hours a week. Each reset takes 2-3 hours, and there are typically 2 assigned each day. The two resets and travel time between them could be anywhere from 5-8 hours each day. * Performs merchandising and display activities in retail accounts as requested or directed * Ensures maximum space allocation in merchandisable accounts * Participates in the development of retail accounts through display service * Introduces and installs new promotional materials to maintain display floor space in retail accounts * Delivers product merchandise when required * Performs merchandising warehouse duties as needed * Advises the Sales Manager and assigned Sales Representative of service problems encountered * Understands the safety rules and requirements in the workplace * Immediately report to the Warehouse Operations Manager any safety related incident, injury, or illness * Immediately reports to the Warehouse Operations Manager any unsafe work condition or safety hazard * Encourages others to follow the safety rules and requirements in the workplace * May involve evening or weekend scheduling for special sales promotions * Perform other duties as assigned Merchandiser Qualifications: * Reliable transportation with a Valid state motor vehicle operator's license * Ability to walk, carry, stand, stoop, bend and kneel for extended periods. * Ability to lift 30-50lbs * Ability to work in cold environments. * Ability to read and follow planograms for retail merchandising. * Attention to Detail with Strong organizational skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Effective time management and scheduling * Ability to work under pressure. * Basic math necessary to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages * Ability to obtain and maintain auto-liability insurance in accordance with state laws * Problem-solving skills with a focus on customer service and communication. * Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
