This position will operate in a hybrid work environment, 3 days per week in the office (Philadelphia, PA). OVERVIEW: The primary function of the Business Development Officer is to develop and structure a business primarily covering the financial advisor channel, as part of the Glenmede Investment Management Distribution team. Responsible for sales and revenue generation and client relationship management for an established geographic territory, in the Registered Investment Advisor and Broker Dealer Financial Advisors channels, as well as other opportunistic relationships. RESPONSIBILITES: Business Development and Prospecting. Responsible for independently establishing their own activity, reporting and pipeline management. Establish a delicate balance of new business acquisition, client / revenue retention and deeper relationships with existing clients. Client Service. Communicate complex topics and decipher analytical concepts across, equity, fixed and alternative asset classes. Networking and Relationship Building. Collaborate with the broader distribution team on industry trends, share relevant information and create best opportunity for success. Function as an extension of investment teams as the first point of contact. Coordinate with key industry organizations and conferences to create increased visibility for GIM and our thought leadership in the respective territory. Provide input to our internal partners on marketing, branding, messaging. etc. Firm Building. Remain intellectually inquisitive to additional knowledge in all areas (capital markets, investment strategies, investment vehicles, competitors, etc) that can be used for personal growth and to share across the sales team. Active engagement in department-specific and firm-wide initiatives in order to expand capabilities, create solutions for unmet business needs, improve client experience, or develop more efficient processes. Ability and willingness to contribute to the advancement of team and business capabilities. Other duties as required by the position. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, finance, economics or other related discipline. * 7+ years experience in investment management distribution required. * SIE exam, Series 7 / 63 required or willingness to obtain. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Ability to be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills and process. * Strong business development and sales planning skills with the ability to manage a large geographical area. * Proven decision-making and analytical skills. * Strong relationship management skills. * Ability to use customer relationship management systems. * Excellent presentation and communication skills. * Willingness to travel as needed. * CFA preferred or working toward obtaining.
