We're now looking for a hands-on, results-oriented Sales Director to lead our sales efforts and help drive the next phase of our growth. Position Overview As Sales Director, you'll be responsible for managing and expanding our customer base, overseeing and expanding a small but experienced team of independent sales representatives, and developing new distribution partnerships. This role is ideal for someone who understands industrial equipment sales, has strong technical and mechanical aptitude, and thrives in a dynamic, small-business environment. The role demands a leader who has a sharp mind and the ability to coach, advise, motivate, or replace sales representatives while building and maintaining a high-performance team. We need an individual that is a strong team player. Key Responsibilities * Consult potential customers to understand their needs and applications. * Obtain and process customer samples. * Identify and suggest equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs and applications. * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, sales representatives and distributors. * Participate in direct sales activities, establishing, developing, maintaining and nurturing relationships with key clients and generating leads. * Develop and execute sales strategies to grow revenue in key markets (North America and beyond). * Participate in customer facing activities such as sales calls, product demonstrations and product training, both in-person and via remote video conferencing. * Support new and existing customers to resolve equipment issues post warranty. * Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer visits. * Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including OEMs and contract manufacturers. * Recruit, lead, train, manage and motivate a small network of sales representatives. * Collaborate with engineering and operations to align product offerings with customer needs. * Uphold company values and promote a culture of integrity, professionalism, and customer focus within the sales organization. * Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity. * Utilize Salesforce CRM to manage customers, leads contacts and opportunities. * Champion a culture of professionalism, customer focus, and integrity. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, marketing, or related field desired. * We will always consider ability, experience, motivation, character and self confidence in addition to (or possibly in lieu of) a college degree. * Must have good mechanical aptitude and be a quick learner. * 2 - 5 years of sales experience in industrial equipment, machinery, or automation (wire processing experience strongly preferred). * Proven track record of success in sales leadership, with a focus on technical product sales. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers and colleagues. * Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to closing. * Proven ability to close technical sales and build long-term customer relationships. * Experience managing sales representative and/or distributor networks. * Strong communication and negotiation skills. * Proficiency in Salesforce CRM software and MS Office suite (Salesforce experience a must) * Willingness to travel to customer sites and trade events as required. * Self-starter with a hands-on approach and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
