The Ogdensburg Housing Authority is accepting applications for a Tenant Relations Assistant. The duties will include but are not limited to processing applications for tenancy, providing outreach and information on the program, conducting investigations and interviews regarding tenants, maintaining wait lists and tenant records, coordinating annual and interim re-examinations of program participants, rent collection, preparing reports, working as part of the Ogdensburg Housing Authority team. Applicants must possess an Associate's degree with one year of experience involving interviewing and eligibility determination of individuals for services, performing investigations or work that involves analyzing, reviewing or summarizing investigation reports. In lieu of an Associate's degree, a high school diploma/equivalency diploma or IEP diploma with three years of experience described is acceptable. Applicants must be in good physical condition, have a valid NYS Driver's License, able to work with the public and coworkers effectively, have good organizational skills, able to work independently and show good judgement, have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to understand and interpret policies and procedures. The position provides an excellent benefit package, including paid time off, health insurance, dental, vision and NYS Retirement. The hours are 8:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday thru Friday with an hour for lunch. The starting rate is $23.57 per hour. This position is currently approved under NYS HELPS which means that it can be offered as a permanent placement without examination following the probationary period.
