Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Engineer with a proven track record in long-cycle sales, specializing in customized and engineered solutions for medium to large-sized manufacturers within a competitive market. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills in qualifying and closing new opportunities using a value-based sales process. As a key player in our sales team, you will engage with senior managers, leveraging your expertise to drive business growth and establish lasting relationships. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's success and be at the forefront of innovative technical sales strategies. * Major Responsibilities/Activities: * Able to engage in consultive selling weighing the pros and cons of a solution and articulating the best path forward. * Able to handle objections and negotiate based on value to close a complex sale. * Discover customer pain points and create solutions tailored to ensure wins. * Develop quarterly revenue forecasts and execute individual strategic annual sales plans incorporating necessary tactical goals to attain annual targets. * Demonstrate expertise in ceramic HTCC, Glass-to-Metal, and Epoxy hermetic seal, ensuring the seamless execution of custom programs within specified timelines and budgets while consistently meeting crucial design requirements. * Collaborative team player adept at successfully closing extended sales cycles, with proven ability to engage effectively with key decision-makers across management, engineering, and purchasing departments of top-tier customers. * Quickly able to qualify new lead potential and prioritize activities accordingly. * Answer client questions regarding product lines/capabilities and communicate needs to the Engineering dept. for a subsequent quotation. * Efficiently manage all aspects of customer meetings, including coordination, attendance, and comprehensive documentation encompassing agendas, meeting minutes, and action items. Proactively follow up both externally with customers and internally to ensure timely achievement of milestones. * Manage sales progress and set tasks for critical opportunities in HubSpot CRM. * Cultivating and fostering relationships with existing clients while actively engaging in networking efforts to acquire new clients. * Act as liaison between customers and internal stakeholders for key accounts. * This position does require traveling to clients, approximately 25%-30% travel is required * Skills Required: * Bachelor's degree required, preferably a technical or engineering degree. * 10+ years of technical consultive value-based sales experience * Essential computer skills include MS Excel, Outlook, Word, HubSpot CRM, and ERP systems. * Strong relationship-building skills supported by excellent written and oral communication abilities. * Preferred Skills: * Sales experience in targeted industries, including Aerospace/Defense, Electrical Transmission & Distribution, and/or Semiconductor equipment preferred but not required. * Experience in hermetic epoxy components, glass-to-metal seals (GTM), and electrical interconnects preferred but not required. * Who we are: Rooted in a heritage of over 80 years, Douglas is renowned for hermetic feedthroughs that provide turnkey solutions designed to meet demanding customer requirements and shape a unified force at the forefront of hermetic electrical solutions.
