Overview The Director of Catering is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all catering operations within the hotel organization. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in business development and sales, particularly in the catering and events associated with the hotel industry. The ideal candidate will possess excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record in account management, ensuring that client expectations are met and exceeded. The Director of Catering will lead a team to deliver exceptional service while driving growth and profitability. Duties * Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance catering services and expand market reach. * Cultivate relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored catering solutions. * Lead business development efforts, focusing on outside sales and technical sales strategies. * Manage the catering team, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure high performance. * Utilize Salesforce and other technology platforms to track sales activities, manage accounts, and analyze market trends. * Negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms. * Collaborate with marketing teams to promote catering services through various channels. * Monitor industry trends to identify new opportunities for growth and improvement in catering offerings. Requirements * Proven experience in business development within the catering or events industry. * Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. * Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on achieving win-win outcomes. * Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM software for account management. * Ability to analyze market data and develop strategies based on insights. * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on client engagement. * A proactive approach to problem-solving with a keen attention to detail. * Previous experience in technical sales or technology sales is a plus.
