Full description of the position

We are searching for a Director of Sales & Events at Bethel Resort & Suites located in Bethel, Maine. The Director of Sales & Events is an on-property, non-remote position who is responsible for booking group rooms and event sales revenues and assisting in completing any sales-related tasks as needed or assigned. This person will work in partnership with their assigned Revenue Manager(s) on a daily basis while also conducting prospecting calls to help grow sales revenues. This person will be responsible for maintaining sales organization in the sales office and fostering a positive relationship with the operations departments throughout the hotel. Job Description We are searching for a Director of Sales & Events at Bethel Resort & Suites located in Bethel, Maine. The Director of Sales & Events is an on-property, non-remote position who is responsible for booking group rooms and event sales revenues and assisting in completing any sales-related tasks as needed or assigned. This person will work in partnership with their assigned Revenue Manager(s) on a daily basis while also conducting prospecting calls to help grow sales revenues. This person will be responsible for maintaining sales organization in the sales office and fostering a positive relationship with the operations departments throughout the hotel. Work Performed This person must always provide a high level of guest satisfaction. This person must have extremely strong communication and organizational skills and an outgoing personality with a "can do" attitude. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. This is a busy sales office environment, and the ideal candidate will have a lot of energy, a strong work ethic and be self-motivated. * Answer, quote rates (with input from their Revenue Manager) and availability for all incoming phone, email and online lead portal sales inquiries, and client questions in a knowledgeable, pleasant, and timely manner. * Perform administrative tasks such as, typing contracts, BEO's, tracking cut off dates, calling clients for payment details and rooming lists and/or any other group details * This position is responsible for booking all segments except wedding receptions. The dedicated wedding salesperson will handle this specific event segment. * Dedicate time each week to prospecting. * Create and follow up on proposals in a timely manner * With input from their team Revenue Manager, quote and create Corporate Rate agreements * Use Tripleseat to maintain account information, and create contracts and BEO's in an efficient manner * Updating and ensuring accuracy of the Group Rooms Control Log (GRC) for the hotel * Be aware of upcoming group cut off dates, and ensure the operations departments have all necessary contracts, BEO's and all necessary details for the Operations team to ensure a smooth service delivery for the group. * Be the customer service point of contact for clients to answer questions about their account or group booked at the hotel * Be present at events as needed to be the point of contact for the group. * Utilize existing filing systems to keep all active sales files updated digitally and/or in hard copy form for their clients. * Submit weekly reporting to the GM, and other Giri leadership as directed * Sit in on the sales portion of the weekly revenue call to provide insight and answers for any sales related questions and be in tune with the revenue manager & hotel team on revenue strategy. * Other duties as requested by the F&B Director, General Manager, or other Giri Leadership.
