Group Sales Manager Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, this position manages accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and solicits past and new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded. Markets include social, military, educational, religious, fraternal, association and corporate segments. Responsible for soliciting new group sales accounts, entertaining, and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals in rooms, food, beverage, and room rental. The successful group sales manager who does well in this role has the ability to block out daily time for "opportunity outreach" (prospecting), the ability to stay organized, avoid distractions, and is able to follow-up with all RFPS and leads to meet activity and sales goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: * Respond to all assigned RFPs through Delphi FDC, CVENT, property website and other forms of social media * Maintain Sales Pipeline in Delphi FDC and follow-up on Inquiries (Prospects and Tentatives) moving each piece of business through the sales cycle * Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts * Manages customer relationship through drafting proposals, contracts, responding to customer inquiries, as well as organizing arrangements as they relate to social and leisure groups * Participate in pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required * Prepare correspondence to clients, internal booking reports and file maintenance * Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers * Responsible for the development of market segments and solicitation of new customer relationships while maintaining existing relationships with previous customers * Responsible to achieve budgeted revenues/goals for designated quarter/year, will also have a sleeping room goal for period * Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to all departments in the hotel to ensure high quality of service to customers* Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account* Group Sales Manager Represents the hotel and conducts conferences with individual customers by telephone or in-person to solicit and close group. Meets with and entertains customers, conducts property tours and promotes facilities and services and within parameters, has discretion to negotiate contracts with customers and commission agreements with vendors * Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to groups and prospective clients to solicit, explain, negotiate and secure group and local catering business * Conduct property tours and participate in trade shows, industry and community events to promote facilities and services * Advanced level of producing room, banquet, and room rental revenue through directly soliciting business via aggressive prospecting, making presentations, developing contracts, negotiating and closing sales * Provide phone coverage for sales department as needed * Provide wedding site visits as needed JOB REQUIREMENTS * Minimum of three years of hospitality experience with a minimum of two years Sales experience preferred * Exceptionally strong guest service skills to ensure superior guest service while recognizing the value of guest and associates. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as proficiency using Microsoft Office, and Delphi FDC. * Passion and drive to work and excel in the Hospitality Industry * Willingness to learn and be positive-minded * Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. * Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Excel. * Advanced knowledge of Delphi FDC * Advanced knowledge of hotel and competitive market * Ability to execute appropriate action plans * Desire to participate as part of a team and be a team player * Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, and long-range planning * Able to set priorities, plan, and organize even under pressure * Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, and clear Job Type: Full-time Schedule: * 8 hour shift Work Location: In person
