Full description of the position
Sales/Designer, Residential Landscape Construction, Mount Pleasant, SC. Our client is an established Residential Landscape Design/Build and Maintenance company that creates and enhances outdoor living areas for Residential properties in and around the Charleston SC market. They have built a reputation for providing high quality work and establishing long term relationships with their clients. The company is looking to hire a Landscape Designer/Sales Representative to follow up on leads, identify new opportunities and create solutions that fit the needs of the client while protecting the company's profit margins. Position Summary The Sales Designer position will be responsible for finding new projects for residential properties within the local market. They will follow up on leads and referrals from residential clients who are interested to make improvements to their outdoor living space. This individual will meet with potential clients, define the scope of work, create estimates using Aspire, document site conditions, budgets and timelines, will produce initial designs and close the opportunity with a signed contract. They will design using Autocad, Land FX and/or Hand Sketch. Once the client has signed the agreement, the project will transition to the fulfillment team and this position will be responsible for monitoring the progress of the project via regular inspections. This position is responsible for selling the construction services which includes landscape, drainage, hardscape, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, irrigation, lighting and other outdoor living features. The goal is for this individual to sell $750-1mm the first year with profit margins exceeding 53%. Projects range from $10k to over $200k with the majority ranging from $30-60k. Responsibilities: * Following up on leads generated by the company to qualify the opportunity * Establish rapport with the client in order to generate a positive relationship * Assist client in defining their goals of the project * Assist client with defining the budget for the project * Propose designs for the client to evaluate in order to come to an agreement on the scope * Create the estimate using Aspire Software and contract in order to come to an agreement with the client * Work with internal resources to meet timelines as it relates to the proposal and designs * Manage the pipeline of potential clients and keep track as to where they are in the sales process * Transition the project to the Fulfillment team who will be in charge of building the project. * Inspect the projects through the construction cycle and handle any large change orders that can materially affect the original scope of the project. Qualifications: * The following education, skills and experience are required for this role: 5+ years of experience sales and design of outdoor solutions; * Experience working on landscape design software and hand sketches; * Broad knowledge of horticulture and landscape design and construction; * Proficient at writing estimates and proposals * Valid Driver's License and insurable driving record; * Adaptable with a strong sense of urgency; * Ability to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner; * Ability to develop scope of work and budgets via sourcing materials * Ability to manage a pipeline and close on opportunities * Excellent interpersonal communication skills, spoken and written, internally and externally Compensation: $70k- 75k base salary plus 15% Bonus, Health insurance allowance, Company Vehicle usage during working hours, PTO, Cell, Laptop. The company is closed the week between Christmas and New Year.
