Job Summary: Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs of walk-in customers and visitors. Responsibilities we'll trust you with: * Serve as a first point of contact for walk-in visitors and customers. * Promptly answer phones in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner * Manage all counter activities such as answering inbound calls and following up with customers by phone as needed. * Take purchase orders by phone, in-person, or email and enter them into the system. * Assist in inventory management in the showroom. * Collaborate closely with the warehouse team to provide timely service to customers. * Forward new opportunities to the appropriate sales team for further development and closing. * As needed, using a forklift to assist customers with loading and unloading their trucks. * Perform other duties as assigned. Your area of knowledge and expertise: Preferred qualifications: * High school diploma or GED * Minimum 1-3 years of counter sales experience with a lumber yard or similar business * Proven ability to provide consistent, professional customer service. Skills: * Problem-solving skills: listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others; diagnosing and rectifying problems. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills * Strong listening and presentation skills * Ability to multi-task, priorities, and manage time effectively. * Ability to work productively in teams with a wide range of people. * Ability to work independently with minimal direction. Physical Requirements: * Frequent carrying and lifting - Must be able to lift 50+ pounds * Frequently standing for long periods of time * Work Environment: works inside and in outside weather conditions.
